          “You wanna get big?” I asked, and she nodded so hard I thought her head might fly off. She was a literal energy bomb, all rainbows and unicorns and glitter-colored delusions.
          
          "Why?" I asked. 
          
          Maria opened her mouth to speak, then paused, hesitating. She looked over her shoulder, watching her father, then she sneakily inched closer, lowered her head to reach my ear, and whispered, "So Chase will leave Lilly and marry me." 
          
          Chase. Fucking Chase. Mr. Perfect was stealing hearts he didn’t even ask for. First my princess, then Lilly, and now this little innocent creature?
          
          My eye twitched. Yeah, I definitely need to kill him. Preferably soon. He was becoming a full-time headache. A threat to my daily existence, a parasite in every corner of my life. I hated the fucker.
          
          
          
          
          
          
          
          Nathan's real enemy in this story is Chase, apparently xD

Everyone: how much more toxic could Nathan get? 
          
          Me: *planning a future scene*
          
          “Tell me who’s after you.”
          
          She shook her head, still refusing to speak, her terrified eyes tracing the blood dripping down my forearm. 
          
          I smiled, “Fine,” I said, and this time drove the knife into my abdomen.
          
          She screamed something but I didn’t flinch, my eyes never leaving hers. “You don’t talk in five seconds, I make it deeper.”
