Hey there, Wattpad fam!

Way Down I'll Go has reached 100k and that blew me away. Well actually...it blew me to action, because I know so many of you have been waiting ever so patiently for the last two chapters of Looking Up. Just popping by to say: 1) THANK YOU! and 2) The second-to-last chapter of Looking Up has been posted on AO3.

As ever, I'm deeply grateful for all the love.

Wishing each of you all the (nasty) pumpkin spiced joy you could hope for.

Hi raquellensanchez! Hope you are well.
I’m just hopping over to tell you that I’ve put together a little Pinterest board loosely inspired by your book, “Way Down I’ll Go”. I’ll leave the link here if you want to ever take a look. XOXO

@raquellensanchez You’re one of my favorite writers, and I know the board probably isn’t correct down to the details, but I’m glad you love it. :D

Hello! Just jumped from AO3 and created a Wattpad to see your questions. Lol

I’m happy to read any time period. (Though I have an irrational unease of the 70s. No idea why. Haha)

I like to read hurt/comfort, angst, emotional stuff with the slow road of healing. Tropes? Definitely a fan of the haggard/underdog man finding a woman/sibling/stranger to help mend them.
A rather specific trope is a thief being caught, having a decent reason to steal, and being let go or being punished and the reason is discovered later.

Book that hasn’t been written….I’m going to have to think about that.

Thanks for hearing me out. Hope you didn’t mind my long-winded answers! And I’m so excited to hear about the remaining chapters in Looking Up!

Hello, my faithful few!

Who knew that having a kid would cramp my writing style so much! I don't regret it a bit, though. He is my entire world and I'm utterly, completely, and joyously smitten.

And yet, I'm getting the writing itch again, so...

I'd like to get your thoughts on a genre switch. I've only got three chapters of Looking Up left to write, and afterward I'm considering writing something in the late Regency/early Victorian period. Same types of characters I usually write, just set several hundred years in the past.

Some context: I promised my sister I would write her a book one day with all her favorite tropes (which also happen to be some of my favorites as well). She's a huge fan of historical fiction and I recently caught some inspiration so I think I'll start it as soon as I've finished Looking Up.

          A few questions for you:
-Would you read a historical romance (full of angst, don't worry) if I posted it here?
-What are your favorite fiction tropes, either in this time period or in general?
-What sort of books are you dying to read that no one has yet written?

That's all! Thank you in advance for weighing in!

          Hugs and polite Mexican kisses,

          -R

I will certainly read any book you put out. Very excited to see where this new genre takes us.
Congratulations on becoming a mama <3

@raquellensanchez hi, Tammystario on AO3 here.

Congrats again and it's so exciting to know you will start this new project!

Would I read it? Ofc, as long as you are the author I'm sure I'll be great.

I'll write random tropes, ideas or stuff on top of my mind and see if somenthing helps.

*I love smart protagonists that are often looked down to because they are girls (considering the time period), or orphans, poor, farmers, etc etc.

*Characters with pretty progressive thinking for their era (Ej. Not beating children to make them behave, like in Wanted from RagingLynx, etc )

*Strong moral compass. So much, that not exactly aligns with the law ( thief that steals to save their family from hunger, or stealing from bad people, teacher considered witch for teaching to read, traitor soldier when they refuse to kill innocent ppl etc.)

*I think going against society in general. We people, in any era sometimes judge and condemn people that don't deserve it out of ignorance, and it's cool to see stories pointing that out. Like Jo and Rachel. They go against the norm just by being together, and yeah, they inspire many people but also offend many more just by existing.

*Stories yet to be written... (Some of my own graveyard storylines that I never fully developed)

A ten-year-old surviver of the Lusitania sinking is tossed in an UK orphanage by mistake. He will escape and with the help of a new friend (a smart, kind kid from the orphanage) will attempt to travel halfway across the world, to California, where he is the heir of a whole Empire. (Like, financial empire)

If you want to bounce ideas or anything I'll be happy to help.

            Congrats again on your baby!

Hi, I totally hooked with Jo in your story. I don't know how to exactly describe him but to put in one word, he is amazing. The day i can't read looking up anymore made me sad and i can't read your post about it because i was locked out from my previous wattpad account thanks to the memory hiding somewhere inside my brain. lol :'

Anyway i just wanna say that i really love your stories, all of them are awesome!, but i like Jo the most. And if it okay with you i want to translate it to Indonesian language. It's really hard to find stories of that particular theme in my language especially as good as yours.

And i read that you're working to publish your stories on other platform which i'm not famliar with but i will check it out to fill my curiosity about the rest looking up. If i get your permission to translate it I'd like to post it here in wattpad considering many Indonesians use wattpad but if you prefer I post it on other platform then I'll do it.

          Hope you the best, thanks!

Thank you! I'll stop by here again as soon I posted the translation to let you know. Although I am not sure I can't translate it good enough to deliver the feelings I feel reading your stories

First of all, thank you so much for all the kind feedback and for letting me know how much you liked the book! It means so much to me, truly!!

I’m totally fine with you translating my work, as long as I retain full credit for and rights to the story. That would need to be made clear wherever it’s posted because I do care about my personal creative license.

Otherwise, go for it with my full blessing!

Well, friends…

After trying to figure out why my one shot series “Looking Up” had disappeared from my profile, I received a reply to my inquiry saying that I was removed for violating content policy. No formal notice, no warning. Just…gone.

Welp. That’s the end of that!

I have an account on AO3 under the same username and will update there instead. Give me a few days to get it all sorted. I’ll probably move all my stories there at some point and may just transition over. There are a lot less bugs and the guidelines aren’t so strict.

I appreciate all of your support and hope you’ll continue to read what I write. It’s all for you guys!

          Much love,

Hi, I am a big fan of your creation. Would you mind if I translate “The way I’ll go” and the sequel “Looking up” into my language ? I mean, Vietnamese. Many friends of mine were crazy over your stories when I told them the plot, but it’s a pity that they are not very good at English.

ngunghuonghoan

Just thinking about Jo’s miserable life brings tears to my eyes It’s so heartbreaking that many children out there have to endure intolerable pains like my dear Jo ❤️ Honestly, Jo goes beyond a mere story on Wattpad, that’s why I cannot help but reread countless times, each time crying my eyes out

Wow! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed it! As far as translating it…I mean, go for it! Just please don’t plagiarize it or sell it or anything like that I’d love it to be accessible for non-English speakers! So knock yourself out!
