Hey folks, for the first time ever, ALL IS SILENCE is on sale as an e-book. If you ever told a friend you should read my apocalyptic Deserted Lands novels, but they didn't want to do it on Wattpad, or you wanted a copy to read on your kindle, nook, or other e-reader, now is the time. $0.99 everywhere except Apple iBooks.

          	I'm hard at work on Book III, but trying to wrap everything up with a more than satisfactory conclusion is challenging.

          	Thanks for your votes and support,
          	Rob

Really liked first book. Second book? Not so much...it is hard to hold on to the story line when you have to read 4 versions of each chapter. So I am going to call it quits. Good luck with your writing.

robertlslater

Sorry about that, @peaches4747. I tried to make it clear at the beginning of the book that what I was doing so that people who are interested in the writing process could compare drafts and beta drafts and final. You can often get the whole book (this is only the first five chapters for $0.99-2.99 on various ebook sellers. Regular list is $5.99. It's also available in print. From time to time on my newsletter, I'll give away copies as prizes. www.desertedlands.com.

Not going to lie I read your stories because we have the same last name but I’m glad I did ❤️

@retalseve,
            Funny thing, I used to refer to my alter ego as Retlas Trebor, or Trebor Retlas! ;-)

@Bookwriter645, thanks. I just met another Slater writer at a conference this weekend! And my brother James just published his first science fiction novel, too!

Your books are amazing. Your book all is silence was the first book that I read on here and now I have my own copy on my bookshelf. You have motivated me to want to write my own books and I'm finally doing it. Thank you for all the wonderful books you have put out into this world.

Would it be alright if I wrote a story in the universe of Deserted Lands, but in a different geographic area (the American Midwest,) and with a different cast of characters?

robertlslater

@DallasHerrmann,
            My apologies, I thought I had answered this. It sounds really exciting if you're still interested. [They call me 4 year Slater (or four years later... :-(]

            If you are not trying to sell it, I would have you include something like this: in the description: A story inspired by Robert L. Slater's Deserted Lands series. If you are actually interested in selling it, we would have to discuss terms. If we agreed on terms and the story met my xpectations it could say these or similar words: A story set IN Robert L. Slater's Deserted Lands Universe. Or A companion story to R.L.S.'s Deserted Lands universe.
