What I do is I just let ideas come to me and then I study them, whether they sound unrealistic or stupid or not. If it’s an idea you like, you’ll put thought into it and you’ll come to build it in a way that’s accurate to your ideal oc :)
An example would be my theatre class character. I randomly decided to employ her at a tiki bar. Then I worked from there. Why does she work at a tiki bar? When are her shifts and why? What will she spend her pay check on? Once I got her aspirations, I decided whether or not I wanted to keep the main idea of the tiki bar or change it to fit her personality more :) I hope this helped lol just remember to have fun with your characters and take as much time as you need :)
