--sometimes i wish i could hug you, even from this far away.
~the bells chime as you walk into the little hut. suddenly, a girl appears from behind a curtain at the back.
"hello, there. i am kokoa," she whispers, her small voice high, almost like a child's. "i've been waiting for you."
you shudder, her icy blue eyes seeming to look right into you. a faint breeze floats through the quaint shop, her shoulder-length black hair stirring as it's whipped around by the wind.
"kokoa-san. i found you." you murmur, finally seeing that you've found the shopkeeper you've been looking for.
"indeed you have, [y/n]," she responds, a small smile formed on her lips as she nodded her head. "now, let me find your book you wanted." she walks to a nearby bookshelf and starts shuffling through the wide variety of books stored in the shelf.
you tilt your head in confusion. "how do you know which one i'm looking for?" you don't ask about her knowing your name.
"i know many things, as young as i am. that's why i own this place." she responded, reaching up to the top shelf on her tip-toes. grabbing the book, she plopped back down and made her way over to you. "here you are. enjoy."
"um, thanks. . ." you nod in gratitude and begin to pad back out of the hut.
suddenly, she grabs the back of your [preferred clothing], stopping you from leaving. you glance back, an annoyed expression on your face. she looks back at your [e/c] eyes with her own, instantly relaxing your face.
"there will be more books for you in the future. i expect you to be back another time," she says, looking down at the ground and letting go of you.
you grin. "of course, kokoa-san." you pat her head and walk out the door successfully this time, leaving her standing there and watching as you disappeared from sight.~
