Wow - hi everyone!!

It's been a really long time since I've been active on here, so I'm sorry for disappearing into the void on everyone! Logging back on to Wattpad and being met with hundreds of comments and so many people enjoying my stories made me so emotional. Thank you all so much for supporting me and reading and enjoying my books! I'm so grateful for all of you, I feel so warm and fuzzy right now.

As for me disappearing into the void for so long, that's because I was busy writing my Honours Thesis! Which is essentially a 15,000 word dessertation you can write between your Bachelors and Masters degrees in the Australian university system. I chose to write mine part-time, which meant I was writing the academic side of the dessertation one year, and the supporting creative work the next. So my 2019 consisted of me doing a whole heap of academic writing. To be honest, I had a very hard time. It pretty much destroyed my motivation to write at all. I had trouble with my Supervisor and more than a few meltdowns throughout the year. I also got an RSI in both my wrists which made writing a big physical struggle. But I pushed through and came out the other side with a thesis on the effect of women in the fantasy genre, and managed to get an 83, which is only 2 marks beneath a HD!

This year, I'm working on my creative work to support last year's thesis. Ever so slowly, I'm remembering how much I love writing and how much it means to me. I still struggle to write, but I'm getting better. This year I have a different supervisor who is so supportive and so lovely, and she reminded me how nice it is to hear good things about my work, and how much I enjoy making people happy through writing. That's why it made me so much more emotional coming onto Wattpad again and seeing all your comments.

I can't make any promises for how quickly I'll be updating the stories on here, but I promise I'm trying my best to write again!

Thank you all for waiting for me!

Oh! I ran out of words before I could mention hahaha I'm going to be focusing on The Ocean's Heart and A Tide of Beasts as I wade back in to writing!!

I really wish I could share my creative work for my thesis with you all because it's something I'm very proud of and I'm REALLY enjoying writing it, but unfortunately I won't be able to share it until it's all handed in and marked. But I'll be sure to post it up when I get my marks back at the end of the year! ^_^

Just finished reading up to the last chapter of The Oceans Heart. Your writing and story crafting is really admirable.

I just looked and saw your stories don’t have high read counts. Please don’t be discouraged by this. Your writing is very good and far above the average. Keep it up!

Hey guys!!

So as you all probably noticed by my lack of updates, this year's NaNoWriMo was a bit of a disaster for me hahaha life just got in the way this year, so I only hit about 5,000 words over November. I think part of it is that I'm not prepared enough to start writing The Sidekick yet - it's back to the planning board for me, and once I've gotten everything smoothed out, I'll try my hand at writing again.

But, for the thing you've all been wondering about - chapter 32 of The Ocean's Heart will be up soon! Probably tomorrow if I can smash the last half of the chapter out tonight. I'm hoping to start uploading it weekly again until the end of the book - after all, there's only seven chapters left, and three of them are already written! I also realised the other day that I left you guys on the W O R S T cliffhanger at the end of chapter 31, so I'm so sorry for making you guys suffer through that for like six months!! I'm so excited for you guys to experience the end of The Ocean's Heart, so I really hope it was worth the wait!

Once again, thank you for being so patient with me over the past few months. I'll be posting way more often now!!

@sianywu22 No worries! Do what you need to do and I'll look out for the updates :)

@TheWigglie Thank you for your concern and your support!! I hope you're staying safe and covid free too. As I work to get myself back into writing, finishing The Ocean's Heart is a big priority for me. I'll then start slowly writing book 3 as I redraft The Blood's Flame with feedback from my beta readers. After redrafting, I'll be looking into starting the query process and hopefully getting The Blood's Flame published traditionally!
