i understand that art is subjective and has the right to be interpreted the way it wants by any individual, but if specifically black and poc people are calling out taylor’s weird lyricism about the 1830’s, maybe actually attempt to listen to them and stop trying to defend it or her overall , or again, try listening to them. i’ve seen how when specifically black people call out the odd lyric choice, they’re getting attacked and dragged. everyone is entitled to their own opinion especially around musicians since everyone has different tastes, however, that’s no excuse to demonstrate that “1830’s” behavior when someone doesn’t agree with you or calls out why the lyric was an odd choice.
