The unfortunately-named Mercy Slaughter is an ancient asexual, biromantic, disabled editor and literary agent who owns a Philadelphia theater company and who does most of her writing while hanging out in family-friendly drag bars. She hasn't seen her natural hair color in more than ten years, but she's pretty sure the one she's wearing is close enough. Mercy works seven days a week, 365 days a year, but the insomnia helps to make sure that she can still indulge in her fanfiction habit, which she is hoping to someday turn into a course for high school students on "How to Fall in Love with Writing, Even When You Think You Hate It."

If you think you recognize Mercy's writing style, or that you may have seen some of her themes and ideas before in the work of another fanfiction author you may or may not remember from a year or so ago, then you're probably right. Mercy recently had to change her pen name and create a new account and a new website, all thanks to a persistent and problematic stalker who she picked up at her dismal customer service job. The moral of this story, friends, is this: Do not post the name of your place of employment on your Facebook OR your FFnet account. Just don't do it.

You can find Mercy's new website at http://www.slaughterliterary.com.

Note: Yes, Mercy is a professional freelance editor, and yes, you can hire her. However, as editing is part of her livelihood, Mercy does not work for free. Mercy respectfully advises that you NOT take advantage of her editing services for your fanfiction, which you can't financially profit from, but that you instead submit to her any original work that you might want to publish in the future.
