Marnie Sheppard is a whiny orphan bitchy queen bee, who moved from Washington to Jacksonville, North Carolina, and is suffocating in the small town, despite her countless friends and hot boyfriend. She hasn't smiled since the night her parents were killed in a car crash that claimed the life of them but not her.

Lux Walker is the poor country girl, who is happy with her life the way it is, despite lacking many things others find themselves relying on. Her family is disfunctional, She has no friends at school other than one person, and has gained a reputation as a loner, yet as a baddass.

What unlikely events could possibly bring the pair of them together, the whiny queen bee, and the loner country girl? Suddenly the pair are tossed into a dark world, full of death and destruction, and find themselves reliant on eachother for not just the basic neccesities, but survival.
