so i think that its p clear by now that i'm not really writing about the boys anymore (haven't for a long time. duologue is more like a stand alone story now). and I don't think I'll continue to write using their names.

please, everyone remember that it's alright to be critical of your faves, to change your opinion about them and learn. if they come out with proper apologies and actually reform their actions, then that means they are becoming better people. if they do nothing and wait for it to blow over, that means they are not the type of people we should support.

to be clear, the reveal that memeulous and other youtubers say racial slurs in a joking way will have little impact on their careers. they will still have a huge fanbase (i mean, look at pewdiepie and ksi and the pauls). we can call them out on it and ask for genuine apologies, but it is up to their willingness to reform, learn and apologise.

I personally will not support them anymore (not that i did much recently anyway) and I implore you to think about the communities hurt by the actions. If you are white and you don't see the big deal, you are part of the problem and are complicit in the subjugation of others.

the world is super terrible (understatement), especially right now, I hope everyone is feeling okay. it's alright to take a break, just don't stand by and watch as people benefit from/wilfully ignore the oppression of others.

@will-lenney @will-lenney yeah i see it a lot in sidemen videos where things just get overlooked or scrubbed out. they are a LOT better recently but obviously could be improved upon.
!! you're right, they'll say it's just for laughs and doesn't harm anyone !!! and white fans will go "yeah it's fine / stop censoring them / it's dark humour." i've even seen some non-black poc people say it's fine. honestly shocking and terrifying.

@smashthatlikebutton especially the ones who are "edgy" and use comedy as an excuse. they will get away with anything by saying they did it in the name of entertainment

@will-lenney !! i think people forget that opinions and likes can be changed which is frankly terrifying !!
youtubers/twitch streamers are human and have a huge public following that they can influence without the sort of censorship etc that movies and tv shows go through. it scares me that they are put on a pedestal for no reason.

hiya ! no update this week for duologue I'm afraid. instead you could use the time that you would have taken to read the chapter to sign some of the petitions / donate to causes for George Floyd and other victims of police brutality. (Helpful document:
          https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-0KC83vYfVQ-2freQveH43PWxuab2uWDEGolzrNoIks/edit?usp=sharing ).
I know that for many of you this may seem far removed, that you might be unaffected, that gives no excuse to ignore what is the systemic and constant violence against people in your community and those around you. you may not see it now, but it is ever present and terrifying.
furthermore, not everyone who follows me lives in the US, however your own governments and police forces are likely rife with violence against minoritised groups. do research, join in the action, spread awareness 24/7.
Black Lives Matter should not only be discussed and promoted when a high profile case like George Floyd sweeps across the internet, you can always do something to help and contribute, start now.

Rewriting Duologue in a new work! go give it a read if you like. I promise it's going to be much better.

In other news it will be my last CC fic (I know, boohoo). Thank you for all of the support on it and others <3333

the issue is not that I hate the boys now, I guess just interests move on and I'm not into writing about them anymore. I will be forever grateful for the comments and votes and support in this community, and I've really learned a lot from writing with you guys.
