I am a sophomore in college at a funky college located on an island in Maine. (There is probably only one such college, so I suppose I shall say that the institution is, in fact, College of the Atlantic.) I have held a deep longing to write since late elementary school but mainly only journaled, blogged, and wrote school essays to engage in the work I revered.

Anyhow, skip ahead to my taking my first ever short story class and deciding to participate in National Novel Writing Month 2013, and you will find me here. 

As for my writing, I am trying to channel some of the feeling and beauty of Maine (and other parts of New England) into my writing instead of the swampy gloom of the Nature Coast of Florida (where I grew up). I also want to experiment with fantasy writing-- a genre I love but feared to write a poor story in. (Obviously, my stories may be poor, but maybe they will get better if I try, right?)

In the future, I intend to become an English professor.
