I write about families in chaos. Because I love mysteries and I believe that having some sort of family around us matters more than anything in the world, my stories come out as mysterious events and problems and secrets surrounding different kinds of families. I tend to write about mothers and daughters because I am a mother of daughters. One fun activity my daughters and I have done together was martial arts. All of this together, combined with my quirky hometown of Boulder, Colorado, helped me create my amateur sleuth series about a menopausal karate instructor/single mom of a teenage daughter. The books can be read in any order, but here is the order of how they were released by D.M. Kreg Publishing: #1 Murder in the Dojo-new jobs are murder. #2 Murder with Altitude-old wealth, greedy developers, and murder. #3 Murder for a Cash Crop-legalized pot and murder.

I have also written short stories about other types of moms and their struggles. These stories are collected in:
Trophy Hunting-trophies mean murder.
Organized Death-powerful women and murder.

I blog every other week with my mystery sisters at Mysteristas.
