Hello all ma peoples. I know this may seem really sappy and cheesy and kinda out of nowhere, but I want to tell all of you why I write and encourage all of you to do the same. So here we go.

I deal with a lot of anxiety and insecurity so I don’t really like to talk to people in fear of embarrassing myself. I had been really shy throughout my life and I never really knew how to deal with it. But one day in the sixth grade, in my English class, we were given a writing assignment. We had to write a story that means something to you. I didn’t really know what to write about at first but then i started to think about possible topics that i could write about. Then I finally got the idea to write a story basically explaining what my life is like dealing with my anxiety and insecurity. I was really nervous to turn in my story in fear of being judged by the teacher.

The next day in class when it was time for my teacher to hand back all of the stories, I realized that I had not gotten my story back from the teacher. Then the teacher asked everyone for their attention. She said that she had something that she wanted everyone to hear. She held up my story and asked me to come to the front of the classroom and read the story that I had written. Now I also have really bad stage fright, and so I walked to the front of the class and started to read my story. Everyone was surprised by my story and it had encouraged people to talk about their insecurities and other things that were personal to them.

I use writing as a form of expression. I express myself through my books in a way that I cant do through talking. Now I still share my stories with others and continue to show others that they are not alone and that other people are feeling that same things. My biggest supporters in my life are my parents, my friends, and my boyfriend/best friend. I just wanted to let you all know that you should never let your fears control your life. And that is why I write.
