Rewrite Update!
Here’s a little snippet from one of the earlier chapters rewritten. Enjoy!
Nicolai groaned for what felt like the umpteenth time, slouching back against her seat at the common room bay window, before peering out of it, “Surely, if I jump from this height, I’ll die.”
“You ought to be more considerate of Filch, Nic. He’ll have to clean up your splattered corpse off the pavement.” Replied Florence, her eyes not tearing away from her Arithmancy book as her right hand relentlessly scribbled notes on a piece of parchment, her remark rousing a light chuckle from Alexander who had been just as preoccupied with his Charms coursework.
“Fine, I’ll just dress myself as a scrumptious looking fish and toss myself in the Black Lake. The Giant Squid will end my life mess-free.”
“Maybe instead of thinking up creative ways to off yourself, you channel that energy into your potions paper. You have, what, about seven inches of parchment left on that thing?”
“I don’t want to. Snape hates my guts anyways, nothing can stop him if he decides to just fail me just because he doesn’t like me.”
“He’s not gonna do that.” Florence quipped, “Do your work. You’re acting like such a Gryffindor right now.”
“Speaking of, a good number of them have probably already thought up the plan to die by way of Giant Squid, so the poor creature might already be full by the time you get there. In which case, you’ll just drown, probably, since you can’t swim.” said Xander.
