I started writing when I was a freshman in high school. Back then, the idea of being an author didn't exist in my mind. I just saw the book and not the person behind it. It wasn't until I saw an interview of JK Rowling talking about how the Harry Potter series came to be that I realized I wanted to be an author.

At the time, I had fallen in love with Twilight after not giving it a chance in 8th grade as I didn't enjoy reading and then watching the film instead of reading it for book report in 9th grade.  I watched a grainy and terrible pirated copy of Twilight every day after school for weeks, multiple times a day. That's when I decided to read the book and then wrote something very similar to it for my first book. When I realized it was almost a copy, I scrapped it and started writing a story I'm still embarrassed to this day about. 

It's been 14 years since I started writing, I have accumulated so many story ideas and completed none. I have a handful of stories that I get passionate about sometimes, but my need for perfection is what keeps me from coming back. I don't know if I'm back in love with writing, but I haven't been this motivated in a long time. 

Although, I'd love to finish my first book early next year, I'm going to take baby steps and appreciate every non-perfect, chapter finished. My goal is to post Souvenir once a month on here. I'm hoping I'll keep writing every week and be miles ahead of the chapters I post so I can ultimately self-publish my first book by the time the last of the beginning chapters are up. So, no full book will be on here.

Right now the focus is Souvenir, but if the motivation strikes for something else, who knows, it might be added to the posting schedule above or updated randomly.
