I am the co-founder and director of publishing at Astor & Lenox, a new publisher of fine fiction and non-fiction books in digital and print editions.

Mercury House and Ballantine Books published three of my novels, all to high critical praise. My most recent novel, A Kiss For Señor Guevara, was published in 2010, and a collection of stories titled Little Bridget and The Flames of Hell was published in 2013. Another collection, New York, is currently in progress, and is being published story by story on Amazon.com. I've had a relationship of many years with The Squaw Valley Community of Writers. I make a living as a free-lance editor of books and articles, fiction and non-fiction.

My short fiction has appeared in The Tampa Review, The Yale Review, The Antioch Review, The Chariton Review and Kindle Singles. My journalism appears in The Huffington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle and Salon.com.

A new novel, The Notorious Dream of Jesús Lázaro, will be published this fall.
