I live in a country that was the first to talk about democracy. In a country where my ancestors considered democracy and justice to be the highest goods and any violation of them was a major crime. I live in a country where I've been hearing this since I was a little kid. And now I'm almost twenty and I can say that those days of democracy and appreciation of justice are gone. I live in a country that two years ago killed 57 people after a train collision. Two trains, one passenger train, the other carrying illegal flammable materials collided. Those people who were in the first wagons, do you know what happened to them? They couldn't even find their ashes. 57 people were killed and as many more people were literally melted down to death. For two years, the country's government has been covering up the crime with lies, withholding evidence and refusing to take responsibility. For two years the families of the victims have been trying to get justice for their children and have been sabotaging them constantly. I am a student and there is never a moment when I didnt thought that I could have been on that train. They could have been my friends. My family. They kill witnesses to keep them from testifying. Can you imagine? A country's government acts like a mafia to keep itself out of this. I feel ashamed of this country. I feel ashamed that we have fallen so low as a society. I am ashamed to be from a country where all the other countries are progressing and mine is falling apart.
