Tynkerd

　A big hello to all you first timers, or long timers, if this is your first time reading this "about me" section. My name is Darren, but I go by tynkerd online. I picked up the name by reading Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind, and modifying a word I really grew to like. 
　I was born and raised in the U.S., to parents also born an raised in the U.S., and can trace my ancestry back to England, Ireland and France. What does that all mean? It means I haven't got a drop of Asian blood anywhere in me, yet I've somehow managed to fall in love with Japanese. I think people are meant to have an international mindset past a certain age; it helps keep you from thinking everything is about you.
　Anyway, with all that out of the way, let's get into my Japanese learning! I saved up money in High School to come to Japan to study for three months, and loved it so much I came back and went to a language school for another two years, before entering a University (College) to study Robotics. I graduated in 2016, and am currently enrolled in a masters program, researching tethered satellite systems.
　The above has given me a pretty good background in Japanese, but no matter how much I learn, there are always new words and sometimes that is frustrating...I want to be able to read novels without a dictionary sometime in the near future please! Anyway, I do rather well, though I'm definitely far from perfect, and hope that any translations I post here will be a pleasure for you to read. For the record, I love good books, whether they be in English or Japanese (Terry Brooks and Piers Anthony were two of my favorite authors growing up).
