TRIGGER WARNING
Several states banned abortions/have made changes to their abortion laws. People in power, why?
This is not mine, I saw it on Twitter:
16 year old girl: I would to like to adopt a child.
Government: No. You are too young, have not completed your education, cannot support yourself, and you are not a legal adult.
16 year old girl: *Gets pregnant by r@p3*
Government: You must raise the child.
What kind of logic is this?!
Do they not understand the consequences? Yes, if you willingly engage in activities that will cause pregnancy before you are ready, you should be aware of what may follow. However, abortion should always be an option because it's not good to raise a child before you're ready. Plus, there are circumstances, like s3xual a$$ault, where forcing the victim to keep the child could easily lead to negligence, and an unhealthy/toxic or even abusive environment. While supporters may use "I'm saving a life" as an excuse, if the mother is forced to keep the child, you could potentially be destroying two or more. The mother could be forced to drop out of school, but the lack of education would prohibit her from getting a job and taking care of herself and the child. This would mean the parents of the teen may be forced to support the baby, which is easily stressful with unfavorable environments. The child may ignored, or seen as a source of trauma for the teenage mother. And not only teens are subject to s3xual a$$ault, children much younger are falling prey to it. The dangers of making an 11, 12, or even 13 year old child who has not yet fully developed bear a child are extreme for the mother and baby, in both pregnancy and birth. As someone on the younger side of Gen Z, this concerns me because my generation, my friends and classmates, and even myself may be subject to this. But the people making these decisions are those who are currently not at risk of this happening to them or their children and grandchildren.
Please spread the word.
