Weidan Sima was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up, he was always passionate about stories but never books (unless you counted picture books) because English was never his strongest subject in primary school. But when university came, amongst textbooks and working with tons of books while working at his university library, he found his calling as a writer in the making when his co-workers expressed their joy when he made up stories and "what-if scenarios" to real life events in their mundane work of shelving and newspaper cataloging. Ever since then, he read more. Even accomplishing the daunting task of completing Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace in a measly 365 days. 

     Always the shy and introverted type, he never had much success with dating and love in paradise. Inspired to find a book that could relate to the awkward and shy types, and to those who would enjoy a meaningful love story filled with fantasy, historical references, and deep characters, he found it writing this book.
