giiiirl, I've been obsessed with venomous for over 2 years now and it just keeps getting better, I'm so impressed by you.
I have a little question for you, something I've been thinking about. What is your take on a slow burn enemies to lovers pace in books? Because I've read a few books in that genre where once the characters turn into lovers there's no going back, and the tension just suddenly vanishes. personally I feel like it can make the story at bit underwhelming in a sense?? but what is your opinion on that?
I'm asking because the pacing in your book so far is just chefs kiss yk. keep up the good work! <3

I totally get what you mean, and I must say I agree. I'm just a sucker for enemies to lovers or just hella tension between two characters, it's just so entertaining haha. but I agree that external plot is really important to stories like this. I like the fact that is not necessarily all about the main characters, but also other important characters and how the plot affects them too (or how they affect the plot ;) ). It's all so beautifully tangled, I love it!

I totally agree with you!! Enemies to lovers can be a difficult trope to write about. The way I see it, the most important thing you can do is make sure that when they become lovers, the story doesn’t end there. What I mean by that is, the stakes have to remain high, some mysteries still have to remain unsolved. The tension between the two characters begins to change and eventually disappear, but if you want to show more of them and basically still have a lot to say about them, you can use the external plot to keep readers interested
Let’s take Venomous for example even though it’s not finished. Let’s say they become lovers, and all the tension of “omg WHEN are they confessing” dies down, the story will not lose its intrigue yet, because there are questions unanswered.
“They are in love, but how will they win the war?”
“They are in love, but how will they manage to get rid of this certain character?”
“They are in love, but how will they get their happy ending?”
The best enemies to lovers are stories that have a shit ton of external plot and character development, because even though the main characters get together at some point, you still wanna find out how the shit show ends, what people they’ll finally turn into, and so on.
Ofc, another way to make sure there’s as much tension as possible until the end, is to postpone the “no turning back from lovers” moment as much as possible. make them lovers, but make it impossible for them to be happy together UNLESS [something]

Hello author...so I am a new reader..i honestly loved venemous..like the one that has 12 chapters...I am so excited while reading it ..it is actually..(I am at loss of words)..I was so excited after I saw the trailers..I read all the 12 chapters in one day..with each scene I was jumping on my bed..even told my stay friends that this is a must ...
I had a question..so I read the one with 12 chapters..I was thinking of reading the one with more chapters..but i wanted to know if they have the same story?..if I read the one with 30 chapters will it act as a spoiler .. should I read it or not?..

Honestly, I wouldn’t really recommend reading the older version. The one you just read is the improved version—it’s more polished, better structured and the plot is kinda different in some ways
If you read the old version, it won’t spoil too much, but the biggest issue is that Jisung’s character was written very differently (he’s not a chemist & is still in high school) the plot was a bit messy and different, there were extra characters, and some scenes that, looking back, i don’t feel proud for having as a part of my digital footprint lmao
But that might just be my perfectionist brain nitpicking haha
If you’re curious, go for it!! Just don’t expect it to be as well-written TT

@wolfchanstan no u know what, it doesn't have to be asap. This is a very valid crashout. If people want stuff "asap" , they can go ask ai to write them a story ffs. YOU take ur time queen, we prefer u healthy and happy and giddy about it (as much as we are) rather than stressed and under pressure and dreading writing bcuz of the pressure. Now let’s address the elephant in the room: Why can’t Maria just write faster?
Bcs writing 10k+ words on a daily basis is NOT humanly possible. To maintain the quality of the work, I can’t speed up the writing process. If I rushed through it to just get it done instead pouring my heart into it, the story would lose its depth, gain plot holes and, quite frankly, it would suck ass.
I also have a life. I’m not just an account you follow on the internet. For the past year, I’ve been battling PTSD, anxiety & severe ocd (diagnosed by my psychiatrist). The only reason I’m even able to write this much is bcs I’m currently unemployed for the sake of my mental health. Writing is my distraction
And to my fellow writers, I know you’ll feel my pain. Imagine spending days writing and editing a 9k word chapter while people on the internet are already pressuring you to just finish already. Then you finally post. You breathe. you relax

I’ve been getting a ton of comments about my writing pace and how often I upload chapters. Some of them have been supportive sweethearts about it and just kindly asked me if it’s possible to write faster (luv you lot for that ❤️ mwah)
But many people were demanding and outright rude.
I understand you. I know the plot can be hard to remember when u have to wait an entire week for the continuation. I myself would spiral if I liked a story and had to wait 2 days for the next update. That’s why I only read completed works—Bcs I KNOW myself, and I know I wouldn’t survive the wait.
Just like you knew this was a WIP when you decided to read it
If you can’t bear the waiting, why not wait a few weeks for multiple chapters to drop before you read? Multiple friends from the Venomous group chat haven’t read any of the 11 chapters yet bcs they’d rather binge it instead of suffering weekly. You can do the same

@wolfchanstan As for me, I'm too curious to wait for multiple chapters, so I read it when it's published, but I never pressure her for new chapters because I CHOSE to wait for the new ones. Plus the chapters are very long and worth the wait. I think a few weeks to write each of those chapters is normal. She would have to be a superhuman otherwise
