Sam concentrated hard a moment to make his teeth shrink back down to human size, gingerly tapping at a canine to make sure it was normal again before looking up when the woman spoke. “Oh… I’d appreciate that,” Sam said softly, still looking a little worn around the eyes. Usually he wouldn’t readily accept a handout such as that, but today, he was exhausted, and, yeah, he was pretty startled from the whole non-human thing, and his, well, everything was still hurting like a son of a bitch. “Thanks.”

as she watched him struggle to pull himself back together , she perched her head onto a propped up hand as she adjusted the glasses back into their proper place . despite being in a familiar place , she preferred to keep her eyes hidden . a safety precaution in case a human came wandering in .
“ at least let me offer you something . it’s a tea made for werewolves . it helps all the joints and muscles relax . we get a lot of customers asking for that after a full moon . on the house , just for startling you . “ she chuckled , tilting her head partly to the side as she awaited some sort of answer from the other .

When she merely laughed at his frankly embarrassing display, Sam didn’t really feel much better. He was starting to feel stressed out. Who was this woman? Had he walked into a trap? Her next words, though, had his proverbial hackles lowering— when he saw her eyes, he understood. Still, the comment about non-humans had him instinctively looking around, wariness clear in his eyes as he sniffed at the air, finding the clear scent of other wolves, vampires, even a skinwalker or two, and a few others he didn’t recognize. Her question startled Sam out of his daze, and he looked back over, trying to pull himself together. “Um— y-yes. Yeah, yes— please. And, uh… shit, no, that’ll make my headache worse. Never mind.”
