Elijah before dying was secretly married to a beautiful and sweet witch-vampire who after a discussion he decided to go with the mikaelsons, she found out that she was pregnant with a girl so she decided to go and raise her daughter with a lot love and joy, years. later the ancestors decide to give the Mikaelsons one last chance and when Elijah's daughter is 4 they revive them (in this story Hayley and Elijah were only best friends and Hayley died at the same time as Klaus and Elijah) but he chose not to look for his wife. But a year later, when the girl turns 5, Hope has a vision of her and her mother celebrating, so she asks Freya what it means (since she had heard that their last name was mikaelson) and they look at all the memories of Elijah's wife amelia (memories of telling her daughter stories of how she met her father, memories of the wedding day, the argument she had with Elijah before leaving with the mikaelsons, when she found out she was pregnant, memories of how her daughter was growing up since she was a baby and until today, when she taught her little girl to dance and paint, all the effort she made to raise her daughter alone without a family, etc
