Just yesterday I finished the RWBY and DC comic crossover: RWBY x Justice League and what I love about it is that they didn’t use any universe crossover for the DC characters like Clark, Bruce, or Diana are all natural citizens of Remnant and make them grounded to fit the mold of RWBYverse. For instance Clark of Remnant is human but his semblance gives him all the powers like his Kryptonian counterpart and only works during the daytime and not at night, Diana is like Penny an Automaton but uses her first origin from the comics of being made from clay with other steps in this crossover and her fellow Amazons are Faunus, Bruce is a citizen of Atlas but a Bat Faunus like in the movie with a detective-like semblance. Cyborg was Remnant’s first astronaut till an accident happened since he and everyone learned Dust doesn’t work in space, and Aquaman is a Shark Faunus ruling a kingdom of marine Faunus with a low level semblance telepathy to communicate with marine life.
It was a fun comic to read, but I truly loved the grounded versions of DC since I am aware RWBY characters are physically strong thanks to aura since Ruby did drag a giant Nevermore upward to the cliff top, Weiss fought an Armas Gigas strong as Atlas’ mechs like the one Roman stole in volume 2, or how Ren palm strikes a King Taijitsu and made its head explode, but the main DC heroes are just too overpowered to be in RWBY with RWBY characters definitely above or around the same level as metahumans. But once you get to aliens like Supes, demigods like Wonder Woman, or Green Lantern; too powerful.
Hopefully if there are more crossovers they try to use the same route than the movie version, not that it’s bad but the while multiverse crossover trope is stale at this point and overused.
