"REALISATION."

9:00

kenma wakes up to the sound of
soft snores. he squints, eyes still adjusting
to the light. in irritation he turns to the
one who had awoken him, but as
he goes to shake you to wake you
up, his face softens.

you looked peaceful. your
hair might have been a little messy, and
there were marks on your face from where
the fabric of his shirt had pressed into your
face, but kenma didn't really mind. he
thought it was cute.

he knew you hadn't
been sleeping well for one reason or
another, so he decided not to mess
with you. he lay back down himself,
and pulls you closer to him. you mumble
something in your sleep, and he holds
back the tiny laugh bubbling from his
chest in an attempt to not wake you.

kenma finally comes to a realisation —
this is what he wanted.

he thought it was nice, waking
up next to you. he wanted
to do it again, again, and again—
he didn't think he could get bored
of the feeling.

the sun filters through the blinds
filling the room with warmth,
and kenma closes his eyes.

he was happy.

he hoped you were as well, in your
own little dreamland.

it doesn't take long for you to wake up,
grasping onto his shirt in fistfuls to
prevent yourself from falling backwards
in shock.

you had forgotten you weren't your
own bed.

silly goose.

"are you okay?"

"yeah, sorry."

"i forgot i was here!"

you let out a ˢᵐᵃˡˡ giggle,
and kenma pulls you closer so
you don't fall off the bed.

"don't fall, okay?"

"i won't!"

"oh wait, goodmornin'!"

"morning, sleepyhead."

"was i snoring?"

"you were. you woke me up
with it."

"you could have said no and
made me feel less embarrassed..."

"you weren't, then."

"wait— toothbrush! i don't have
one! don't talk to me until i brush
my teeth!"

you sit up, almost elbowing kenma
in the face. he grumbles in annoyance.

"can we not lie here longer?"

"we can after! i have
to brush my teeth!"

"morning breath is yucky."
