I'm inexplicably sad, so ima write a sad imagine while listening to Needy on repeat.
Enjoy!

A short sigh escaped my lips, as I continued to stare at my phone.

Snapchat was open, the screen showing my girlfriend in the studio, the mic in front of her and an open notebook next to her. She seemed to be having fun, and normally I wouldn't mind her going to the studio when she wanted.

But not today.

Today for just this one fucking day, I just wanted an inch of attention. Anything to show that she still cared. Because when it's your birthday, and your girlfriend didn't even seem to remember that you existed, what else can you assume besides the fact that she doesn't care anymore.

It's not like I wouldn't take a simple call. Hell, even a text would suffice, but so far, as the day was winding to a close, she had yet to reach out.

Finally pulling together the willpower to turn off my screen, I leaned my head back against the Uber seats. Where did it all go wrong?

Ariana and I had been dating for almost three years now, and up to four months ago, every moment of those three years was bliss. I had never loved or felt as loved as I did when I was with her, and I truly believed that she was my forever. I literally had the ring I was gonna propose with hidden in my sock drawer.

Then things changed. It wasn't a sudden change, nothing that I know of brought it about. It's just little by little, over time, our interactions changed. She was more distant, less affectionate. She didn't laugh as much, or ask me about my day, and just hold me and kiss me.

We slowly started to become strangers.

I wondered if there was someone else, but if she was cheating on me, she hid the signs and evidence very well.

My buzzing phone brought me out of my thoughts, and I typed in my code to see who had messaged.

Papa bear🐻❤️:
Hey there bug, I just wanted to say happy birthday! Your mother and I love you very much, and we are so happy to see you growing up and maturing year by year. We know Ariana is probably doing an extravagant celebration for you, so we didn't call, but we both love you so much! Here's to 24!! P.s tell our future daughter in law we said hey and we love her too!
(Delivered 9:23 P.M.)

'Future daughter in law'

A drop of clear liquid splashed against the words, sliding down the smooth glass and falling off the bottom of the screen, and I hurriedly wiped my eyes before more tears could fall.

I wouldn't cry over her today, I had been doing too much of that lately.

"Hey, we're here!" I looked up from my lap, glancing around at my surroundings and realizing that we were indeed in front of the airport. "Hope you have a safe flight miss!"

"Thank you so much! Have a good rest of your day!" After the driver had helped me get the rest of my bags out of the car, I handed him a fat cash tip, and started walking in the airport.

I was going on a hopefully really distracting, long vacation to Italy. I had a little peaceful villa in Tuscany that I owned on a couple hundred acres of vineyards.

Spotting one of those airport luggage things, I breathed a sigh of relief. I packed pretty heavy, and lugging all of these bags around with me was becoming tedious.

I didn't have all of my belongings with me obviously, but I had enough of my clothes, necessities, and enough cash to be able to survive in Italy for however long I wanted.
