Harrison’s POV
I walked down the streets of Old Town Bel Air in a small, tight dress and heels, hand in hand with Tony. Upon my release from the hospital, the fifth time this year, Tony declared it was date night. Tony smiled down at me and complimented my appearance yet again. And I blushed, yet again.
Once we got to the restaurant, we sat and ordered more than enough food. The guys were counting my calories more than I was, filling me up at least three times a day. I knew they were all watching me carefully, I had scared. I was doing well for a suicide survivor. I was feeling great for trying to drown myself yesterday. Tony gracefully avoided all of the negative events from the past few days, and everything was fantastic. The small Mexican restaurant was beautiful on the chilly December night. It was only 5:30, but well past dark. On our way back, Tony flipped me over his shoulder and ran us to a bakery to pick up some dessert. In this tiny little town that was stuck in forty years ago, the shops sat on a skinny one-way street, dim lights and cute signs practically smiling at us. We were standing in front of the glass, the only thing between us and all the delicious treats, when we heard gunfire.
Jaime’s POV
My phone rang. I sighed as I got up from the couch to get it where it was charging in the kitchen. Vic and Mike sat at the table, discussing band stuff while I had been watching TV. We were waiting for Tony and his wonderful girlfriend to get back from and apparently much needed date. Oh, love.
“Hello?” It was Harrison, though I couldn’t imagine why she would be calling me.
“Tony and I….” I couldn’t understand what she was saying. She was crying hysterically and there was noise in the background. I could only make out “Tony and I,” “gunfire,” and “hospital.”
“Wait, Hare, slow down. What about Tony and gunfire and a hospital?” Mike and Vic looked up, obviously hearing my side of the conversation.
“We- we were at a b-bakery and there were shots f-f-fired and then a bullet came through the gl-glass and the guy came in and he was shooting everywhere and T-T-Tonyyyyyyy got hit twiiice..” She trailed off, sobs dragging out the syllables. Shit.
“Alright, Hare, babe we’ll be there in a second. I promise. Hold on for us, alright?” I spoke quickly; she was in no state to be freaking out like this.
I hung up and addressed the guys, “Tony was shot, twice. Him and Hare are at the hospital. She’s freaking out, and in light of recent events, that’s not really any good for her. We need to go. Now” I spoke sternly. Grabbing mine and Vic’s cell phones from the chargers and a set of keys, I ran out the door, not bothering to get a jacket. The brother’s dashed after me and we jumped into the car, speeding towards the hospital, the third time this week.
Vic’s POV
I kept glancing back and forth between Mike and Harrison, and Tony’s still body. Out of the three of us, Mike was the runner up to Tony for Harrison’s best friend. Mike offered her comforting words, rubbing circles into her back. He was trying to calm her down; it wasn’t working very well to be honest. She was still in hysterics when we got here, curled up on a waiting room chair, waiting. We gave her weak smiles, and when she noticed us, she flew into Mike’s arms, the slight crying returning to full fledged sobbing. Her hiccups echoed down the hallway when the doctor finally led us to see his. The first bullet had hit his thigh; they had gotten the bullet and sewed him up. The problem was the other bullet. It had narrowly missed an artery near his waist line, and although he was fine for now, there was a possibility that he moved the wrong way, the bullet would slice the artery and we’d have a dead brother. And most likely his dead girlfriend too.
Although Harrison had seemed normal between hospital visits, this would kill her. She was a strong girl but I knew she could only take so much. She had calmed down now. We were huddled around Tony’s bed and Mike was hugging onto Harrison like if he let go, she would disintegrate. Jaime held her hand and I stood on the other side of the bed. I wasn’t all that close to Harrison and I didn’t expect her to look to me for comfort. This was a heart breaking scene. Jaime looked pretty upset. Mike and I probably did too. Tony was a brother to us, it wasn’t something we could smile and come back too. He could die.
They would operate on him tomorrow, claiming he would make it through the night if we stayed here to make sure he didn’t move when he woke up. He took this moment to stir. Harrison’s arms shot out to stop him, she had the best grasp on this whole life or death, don’t let him move kinda thing. This was probably because she’d had more near death experiences than a Lifetime movie actress on the set. I gently shook his arm, getting a strict and measured warning from Harrison.
“Tony… Tony baby. Wake up please.” She sniffled through tears, her voice muffled by the sounds of several machines running. They were almost the only thing keeping Tony alive.
He stirred again and both Jaime and I held him to he didn’t move the bullet, subsequently killing himself.
“What? Harrison we have to get home… Pick out your damn dessert.” He was still at the bakery in his mind. New tears fell from Harrison’s stormy-sky eyes.
“Tony… You were shot. Please don’t move. Just open your eyes and tell me you love me. Please.” Harrison was practically begging on her knees. This was making my chest hurt. Mike looked on the verge of tears. Tony hadn’t opened his eyes yet. I could tell Harrison was about to start again.
His eyes snapped open.
“Of course I love you, Harrison.” He was going to be okay. But then he sat up. He sat up and spasmed violently, falling back onto the bed. And that’s when Harrison broke again, wails echoing through the small hospital room. Jaime hit the buzzer and the doctor ran in. We were rushed out into the waiting room. I was getting real tired of the hospital’s décor.
I think I'm going to try to write multiple chapters at a time so you dont have to wait and I could maybe update more regularly and/or daily. Too much drama? Not enough happening? Repetitive ideas? Please, please, please let me know. It would really help me out. Thanks for the votes and new fans and all that. But seriously, comments would send me to heaven. Thanks for reading and maybe for reading my fabulously annoying author's notes.
