Midoriya woke up with an itchy feeling. Groaning, he sat up to scratch away the itchy feeling when he felt scales.
Scales.
Where the hell was his legs? Taking off the blanket, he looked down -
and saw a mermaid tail. So he did what any normal person would do. He screamed.
"Ah, Midoriya, please keep the noise down! I must have my beauty sleep!" Aoyama said as he opened the door - to see Midoriya flopping around, trying to make sense of his fishy tail. And so, Aoyama did what any other person who's seen a merman did. He screamed a high-pitch scream worthy of an opera singer.
Soon, everyone was rushing towards Midoriya's room and Aoyama was blocking the door, for Midoriya's sake.
Midoriya tried to get up and into his bed so he could hide his tail. He could hear everyone talking outside and he did not want to make such a large fuss.
"Aoyama, let us in!" Uraraka said.
"The two of you were screaming like madness!" Midoriya recognized that voice as Mineta.
"We should be respecting each other's privacy!" a booming voice said. Midoriya could already picture Iida's robot arms.
"Still though, kero, why would the two scream?"
"Think it's because of Midobro's quirk accident?"
By now, Midoriya was just TIRED. He was very annoyed by the shouting match outside and his scales were as itchy as hell.
"Just let them in, Aoyama."
"You sure, mon amie?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
Aoyama reluctantly opened the door to reveal Midoriya in all of his fishy glory. For a moment, there was beautiful silence. But then, chaos erupted.
"KYAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!"
All the girls were screaming their head off and everyone was trying to not freak out because Midoriya had a fish tail.
"It's like the Little Mermaid," Todoroki thought out loud and the boys nodded.
"Oh my goodness! How does being a mermaid feel?" Mina asked and Midoriya sighed. "It feels itchy."
"Well, maybe you need water, kero. After all, you're part fish," Asui pointed out and Midoriya sighed again. "Maybe, Tsu," he replied.
"We'll be in the common room making an inflatable pool," Momo said and some of the girls went down to help her, including Jirou, Asui, Hagakure, and Mina. The rest just watched them go down before turning their attention to an annoyed Midoriya.
"Whelp, at least it's Saturday," Sero said and Midoriya nodded. If it were a school day, he would be missing a lot of school work.
"I'll float him. Can some of you guys carry him?" Uraraka said, trying not to laugh at her bestie's predicament.
Soon, Kirishima and Todoroki were carrying Midoriya towards the elevator when they realized that he wouldn't be able to fit.
"Haaa, I'll just pull in my tail a bit," Midoriya said and they managed to get into the elevator, even though they were a bit squished.
The eleven or so people left waited for the other elevator to get downstairs. Bakugou was still twitching, before he exploded. "WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!"
No one knew, Bakugou, no one knew.
------------------------------------------------
By the time they got downstairs, Momo had already created a large, inflatable pool and was munching on an apple while creating water for the pool. Asui was testing the water temperature while Hagakure was washing Momo apples. Mina wasn't anywhere to be seen.
Sure enough, when Midoriya got into the pool, he took to it like a fish to water.
"You know," Kirishima said, "I don't think he'll be able to stay there for the entire day. I mean, isn't it a bit cramped?"
"You're right, kero," Asui said when the door opened and Aizawa came with Mina in tow.
"So Problem Child is a mermaid," Aizawa hummed and Midoriya wished he could turn invisible.
"Ah! Sensei, can we bring him to the outdoor pool?" Uraraka said, hitting her fist to her palm. There was practically a light bulb lighting up on top of her head.
Aizawa thought about it for a moment before saying, "Sure, I'll get you all a pass."
"So we're going to the pool?" another voice said and the group turned to the elevator to see the rest of the class coming into the common room.
"Yep!" Mina yelled and the class went back up to get their swimsuits. Midoriya was left alone with Aizawa.
"Problem Child," Aizawa sighed, "how on Earth do you get into these situations?"
Midoriya shrugged.
------------------------------------------------
After having Uraraka cancel Midoriya's gravity, she tugged him out to the pool like a little kid with a balloon. Although there were a few stares, many just ignored the floating merman. After all, this was UA. There were bound to be some weird stuff happening all the time.
By the time they finally got to the pool, Midoriya was ready to sigh in relief. He was starting to itch again so when Uraraka cancelled his gravity, Midoriya was excited and ecstatic to get into the water.
With a large splash, he started swimming up and down the pool. Then Midoriya's eyes went wide. He hadn't noticed it before but he had gills. That meant right now, he was breathing under water.
"Wait," he said UNDERWATER, "could I use my quirk?"
He tested it out and red veins appeared once more with the green lightning. Using five percent, he zipped through the water. He was already fast with his quirk when swimming but when he was a mermaid AND using his quirk? He was practically a torpedo.
After finally stopping, he popped out of the water to see an astonished Class 1a. "What?" he said and Class 1a started to talk once more.
"Jeez, you were so fast!"
"Dang, who knew you could swim like that?"
"Are you sure you're not part mermaid?"
Midoriya smiled at the compliments. Todoroki walked to the edge of the pool and mumbled, "Are you sure you're not a secret love child from Ariel?"
Midoriya looked at Todoroki, exasperated. "Ariel isn't a real character!"
"So that's a no then?"
Midoriya sighed and said, "Come on, are you going to stand there, or what?"
The Bakusquad (besides Bakugou) was the first to jump into the pool and then everyone else followed. Midoriya swam around them as Bakugou yelled, "Stop fucking showing off you damn nerd!"
"Hey, wanna race, kero?" Asui asked and Midoriya grinned. "You're on!"
"On your marks!" Iida yelled as they went to one side of the pool, "Get set, go!"
Midoriya activated One for All and the two zoomed through the water. Midoriya pulled ahead of Asui, using eight percent of One for All. Reaching the finish line, it wasn't long for Asui to reach the finish line after him.
"I guess a fish is faster than a frog, kero."
"Yeah, maybe."
The rest of the day was spent with races (in which Midoriya always won and resulted in a fuming Bakugou), Marco Polo (Kaminari kept asking who Marco Polo was), and some volleyball (in which Midoriya used his tail sometimes to hit the ball).
