I stare back at the red exclamation mark besides my text looking disbelieved and broken.

How did we end up here? How did we even get here?

It has to be a misunderstanding. Right? He just wouldn't leave without a word. That's not his personality.

What happened? What am I missing?

I started to scroll all the way back to the first text of today that we exchanged.

Morning at 9:15 a.m.

Saul: Good Morning, my love.

Me: Good Morning, baby. How are you doing?

Saul: A little tired but I gotta get to work soon.

Me: Why not take the day off, baby. You can have your favorite dessert.

Saul: Haha. Nice try, my wife, but you're not getting your way today.

Me: Humph! Fine be that way then.

Saul: Don't pout, my love. I love you so much Asuna Yarbrough.

Me: I love you too Saul Yarbrough.

Saul: Alrighty then, I'll text you later baby. I might be really busy since it's the holiday season now.

Me: Okay, hubby. Be safe.

Saul: I will, my love.

He was indeed busy as hell all day. I tried texting him during his break but I got nothing. It was making me mad because I was missing him. I didn't get any kind of reply until late at night.

Late night at 12:45 a.m.

Saul: Hey

Me: FINALLY!!

Saul: What?

Me: About time you answered.

Saul: Ohhh. I told you I was busy.

Me: I know baby but I was just missing you.

Saul: Ohhh

Me: Is something wrong babe?

Saul: No.

Me: Are you sure? It sounds like something bothering you.

Saul: I said there was nothing wrong.

Saul: Wud

Me: ummm okay. And nothing.

Saul: Ohh okay.

That was it.
