Renée had a bad feeling when she barged into Pete's dressing room on that Saturday. They were prepping for the dress rehearsal, so she was dressed for one of the skits. Pete was dressed for Weekend Update, but she saw him quickly tuck his dad's dog tag necklace into his hoodie.

"Hey, Renée. Um, change of plans. I'm not going on tonight. I could go home but I'm pretty sure I'm homeless now."

Oh shit. The color in her face drained and she struggled to walk over to him.

"Ariana kicked me out. Gave me my dad's necklace and the ring back, but I can't go back there. And I'm not just saying that to avoid seeing her. She told me not to come back."

"I'm sorry. I have a spare room, you can crash at my place if you want. I'll figure something out to get your stuff. You won't have to see her."

"Thank you. Listen, don't post any of this. I don't want the press to be on your back over this."

"I got it. I only have two skits so I can be here if you want." She just wanted to give him a hug.

"I'll be okay. Thanks, though. Go have fun out there."

Before she left his dressing room, she wrapped her arms around him. "Don't forget that you are so loved," she said before leaving. Colin gave her a weird look when he saw her leave the dressing room, but she pulled him aside before he could say anything.

"They broke up. He's gonna crash at my place for a few nights. Don't blast this on social media. Just put on a happy face and do your Weekend Update segment with Che and Seth."

"Oh. Uh, okay."

She grabbed some snacks before going back to Pete's dressing room to prep for her skits.

She decided not to text Ariana until the morning because it was late and she didn't want to start anything.

When they finished filming the episode, Renée found Pete. He was taking shots at the mini bar but she was somehow able to get him to her dressing room without any trouble.

"Do you have a change of clothes?"

"Yeah, trunk of my car. I parked near Colin."

"Okay. Stay here, I'll be back."

She followed Colin to his car while pressing on Pete's keys to find his car. The next step was to look for anything that resembled a bag of clothes. Pete's car was surprisingly clean, but it wasn't surprising that it smelled of weed. The bag of clothes was in the trunk, which she was nervous to open.

Pete was still in her dressing room when she got back.

"Hey, you ready to go?" She asked, as she knocked on the open door to get his attention.

"Hell yeah. Do you have the stuff with you?"

She sighed, "Just say weed. I don't have any here but I have some at my place. Do you want me to stop at anywhere for something to eat?"

"I don't know. Let's get outta here."

By the time they got to the lobby, there were only a few people left in the building. Renée put her bag in the backseat of her car while Pete buckled his seat belt. It didn't take long for her to roll out of the parking lot. The drive to her condo was about an hour, but Renée kept noticing that Pete wouldn't put his phone down.

"Toss it in the back seat before you do something you'll regret. You're already drunk, you don't want to be in the news for a drunk dial or whatever."

Pete sighed because he knew that she was right. There was a moment of silence before she was able to stop and shuffle her Apple Music library.

The first song to come on was Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks and she knew all of the words.

"Hey, your voice sounds kinda like hers. It's nice." Pete said after the song was over.

"Thanks. I'm telling you, it's the karaoke bars with Marc that I go to. Best thing ever."

Music continued to play, and Pete was happy given the circumstances. Especially considering the fact that Renée was "bumpin' it" to Hamilton. It was common knowledge that Pete hated show tunes, and Renée loved Hamilton. The situation was setting him up to do something regretful. He decided not to do anything, though, because despite his recent break up, he had Renée, and he considered her a ride or die.

She parked in the closest parking spot to her condo and Pete grabbed his bag and his phone.

"Don't even worry about taking your shoes off. Go up the stairs and chill. I'll be behind you."

Pete listened, and he went up the flight of stairs that led to the living room, the kitchen, and the dining room. Renée took her shoes off and locked the door. She checked her messages to see that they wouldn't need to work on an episode for a while because of a short scheduled hiatus.

After seeing that message from Lorne, she opened Instagram to message Ariana.

"Renée, you coming up here or not?" Pete yelled.

"Oh sorry! Yeah, I'll be up in a minute!"

She picked up her shoes and her bag before going upstairs. Pete was laying on the couch with his shoes and shirt on the floor next to him. They went upstairs after she told him where her weed was.

He smoked a joint on her balcony while she got ready for bed. She was watching an episode of Riverdale when Pete came back inside.

He already knew where the guest room was, so he didn't have to ask. When things got quiet, she tried to get to sleep. Renée didn't know that Pete was having a really hard time getting to sleep until he knocked on her door.

"What do you need?" She whispered.

"I can't sleep on my own. I haven't had to do it in months so that could be why but-,"

"Get over here, it's fine."

They fell asleep next to each other and it was the best sleep of Renée's life. She didn't want to get up when she woke up before he did because she was so comfortable. Eventually, she got up when she wanted to eat. The drive to what was now just Ariana's apartment was long, so she made a big breakfast and saved some for Pete.

Her parents called her while she was on the road to talk about the most recent episode of SNL, and it was always the thing that highlighted her week.

When she got all of Pete's stuff out of that apartment, she was mildly surprised that it all could fit in her car. She almost called Marc for help because he was close, but she was relieved that she didn't need him. Pete texted her throughout the day and helped her with his stuff.

"You don't have to unpack anything. I'm just gonna put these boxes upstairs. It won't hurt you to help."

He let out a slight laugh before they went out to her car to get the boxes. It was apparent that when they moved in, Ariana was the one in charge of the furniture because most of the things that were his were clothes and shoes, and a few framed pictures.

The friends ate dinner on the couch while watching Netflix. Marc texted her that he had ordered the cake for their dad's birthday and he sent a picture of what it could look like. She couldn't help but get excited, because it looked great.

A/N: There it is, I wrote Ariana and Pete's breakup. I still hate it when people say she made him famous. Also, when I said, "bumpin' it," this is the clip that I was referring to.

He's so cute omg
