"Are you sure you have everything? Do you have your broom and quidditch uniform?" My dad asked me with a concerned look. We are at the Kings Cross train station. I said to him I could go alone, but he insested on coming with me, because it's the last time I'm going to Hogwarts. And he also wanted to hang out with uncle Blaise. His son Zach is one of my closest friends even though he's two years younger... well he's more like my younger brother.
"Yes." I rolled my eyes.
"So, repeat after me - no parties, no boys, no problems. And don't roll your eyes" He demaneded. He does that every year.
"No parties, no boys, no problems." I sighed and he smiled. He didn't say a thing about girls though...
"Good luck Lyra, take care of yourself." He hugged me.
"You too." I smiled.
"Okay, go so you don't miss the train." He let go of me.
"And don't forget to write me." He added.
"Of course, bye dad, love you." I said.
"Love you too." He waved at me and i finally got on the train.
Dad and I have a great relationship. I know he may seems cold and intimidating, but he's really nice... well at least he's really nice to me. He's always supported me no matter what and he's always been there for me and ever since mum passed away, we actually got closer.
"I'm going to find my friends." Zach said to me.
"Um, hello?" I pointed at me. "I'm standing right here?"
"I meant my young friends, you're old." He left.
"Traitor." I shook my head as I head out to find my friends Am and Aiden.
Lost in my thoughts i bumped into somebody. "Watch where you're going." I huffed.
"Pleasant as always." You have to be kidding me. Fucking Potter.
"Merlin, you really had to be the first person I talk to. My day is ruined." I sighed.
"I guess it's our destiny to be close to each other." He winked at me. Potter and I have been rivals since the first year. We used to prank each other, but I stopped after my mum passed away. Above that we both play quidditch and we're both captains, so i guess it's another factor, why we don't like each other. I just rolled my eyes and kept looking for my friends.
~~~~~
"Lyra, here!" I heard Am yell from behind me. I turned around and gave her a big hug.
Am is my best friend. We met in second year at the library. She was scared of me at first, after all I'm a Malfoy, but she started talking to me when i helped her with her Astronomy homework.
"Hey." I said happily.
"Hi, I missed you." She smiled. We hadn't see each other during summer, because she was traveling with her dads.
"I missed you too." I admited.
"You wouldn't believe what happened to dad when we were leaving-"
"Hello girls!" Aiden hugged us. Aiden is another friend of mine. He's in Slytherin, like me. He's the only boy my dad tolerates around me if I'm not counting Zach. "So, what's new?"
We found an empty compartment and talked about everything.
~~~~~
After the sorting ceremony I finally settled in my dorm.
"Girls, I have some tea." Cassie, one of my roommates said. She knows everything about everyone.
"Already? We've been here for like an hour." Susan, my other roommate said.
"You act like you don't know Cass." Gemma, my last roommate, smirked.
"Montague tried to slip a love potion into Mary Hallow's drink at the sorting ceremony, because he slept with her and thought she wanted to be with him, but then she turned him down." Montague is my ex. We dated last year for two months and then he cheated on me.
"Of course his fragile masculinity couldn't handle a rejection." I rolled my eyes. "I hope he didn't get away with it."
"No, McGonagall took 10 points away from us and gave him detention, so now our house has negative points." She clarified.
"Oh Merlin, I still can't believe I actually dated him, he wasn't even good in bed and he was like a four." I sighed.
"Yeah, he was way bellow your class, you did charity work just by giving him a chance." Gemma scoffed.
"It was a low point in my life."
"We noticed." Susan joked.
"Anyway, while we're still talking about boys... James Potter got even hotter over summer, don't you think?" Cassie said.
"Yes! I wanted to say that. The things I would let him do..." Gemma grinned.
"Merlin, I can't believe you thirst over Potter. He's so... I don't even have words for that." I frowned.
"C'mon Lyra, you have to admit he's hot. We all know about your rivalry but don't be delusional. He is hot. It's just a fact." Gemma stated.
"Can we stop talking about boys?" Susan sighed. "Have you seen the exchange student from Ilvermorny? She is so gorgeous."
"What? I didn't know someone from Ilvermorny was already here! What's her name and what house is she in?" I asked. Ilvermorny girls are always spectacular.
"Carolina Burton, Hufflepuff. She's in sixth year." Of course Cassie already knew all these stuff. "And she is really beautiful. You should talk to her, Lyra."
"Oh, I will. Let's just hope she's not straight." I smirked.
Gemma, Cassie and Susan aren't exactly my friends. Well, we talk during the school year, but we never really do anything together. They have different friend group than me. But I still appreciate them. I always know the hottest gossip from them and I loooove drama.
