The Right Thing

[Mallory POV]

My eyes flickered open and I groaned as I sat up.

"MALLORY!!!!"

I looked up to see all of my friends tied up.

"What...?"

I looked around and my eyes widened.

"Oh no..."

THUD!!

Hawk Moth walked out of the shadows, dragging an unconscious Chat Noir behind him.

"CHAT NOIR!!!!" Marinette cried, struggling against the ropes.

Hawk Moth crouched in front of me and patted my head.

"You did good, Mallory," he told me in a gentle tone.

Mayura walked out of the shadows, staring at the ground.

"Wh-what is he talking about?" Marinette questioned me.

Hawk Moth chuckled and lifted me to my feet.

"You see... Mallory here... is a sentimonster!!" he told them.

My friends' eyes widened in shock.

"Wh-what...?"

I looked behind me to see Chat Noir staring at me in shock and hurt.

"I-I-"

"I TRUSTED YOU!!!!" Marinette shouted at me in anger, tears in her eyes. "NOW HAWK MOTH IS ONE MIRACULOUS AWAY FROM WINNING!!!!"

What have I done...?

I trembled, unable to process what just happened.

Mayura put her hand on my shoulder and led me a little away from my former friends and my brother.

Hawk Moth walked to Chat Noir and put his foot on his chest.

Tears pricked my eyes.

It will be alright.

My eyes trailed to the ground in shame.

I closed them tightly as memories filled my head.

*Flashbacks*

"Hello, Mallory. I am Mayura! And you're a sentimonster. You are to become Adren's 'adopted sister' and protect him from akumas, amoks, and bad influences!"

    - Mayura

"Adrien, this is Mallory, your new sister."

    - Father

"Thank you, brother."

"Just call me Adrien!"

    - Me and Adrien

"This is my new sister, Mallory!!"

    - Adrien

"Bravo, Ms. Agreste!!" 

   - Vincent

"You must have heard of me!! I'm Lila Rossi, Adrien's muse!! He's so amazing!! Even more amazing in person than on talk shows or in magazines!! And I get a front row seat!!"
