5 seconds of summer was a shit band.
shit is being nice, and it's honestly a compliment to even call them a band in the first place. they were just four immature boys who could somewhat play insturments, were friends, and at this point, relied on their parents to pay for their "big break" in vegas.
but after a year and eighty thousand dollars spent between the four in a city that turned out to just be full of crazy nights and not record deals, it was all still the same.
michael had his temper,
calum spent too much time using the "i'm in a band" line on girls to actually be in one,
luke would practically shit himself breatheing in the direction of a crowd,
and all ashton seemed to do was listen to classic rock and watch rupaul's drag race.
they were at the end of the line at this point: blackballed from cafés, and halls, and strip clubs (they tried), now they found themselves with just barely enough to pay the next month's rent.
they had holes in their shirts, rips in their jeans, too long of hair; they practically looked homeless.
who would ever hire them?
no one.
but unless they wanted to be living on the streets, they needed to change that.
so when ashton stumbled across a flyar for the contest, he knew they couldn't pass it up.
besides drums, there was one thing ashton knew.
drag.
the thing he didn't know however,
was that punk and stillettos would feel so right.
