(Schlatt's Point of View)

"I always gave up a part of myself for Tubbo, I gave up my safety if it meant keeping Tubbo safe, I gave up meeting up old pals if Tubbo would've had no fun, I gave up anything if it wouldn't make Tubbo happy"

Schlatt woke up in the car with a bitch of a headache and a slight hangover, he didn't think he fell asleep but in his drunken state he must've. He looked around and tried sitting up but quickly realized Tubbo was asleep on his lap, and so he sat back how he was. He rubbed his eyes and and fixed his hair out of his face. He looked down at Tubbo, who had no bee plush with him and was almost in a little ball. Schlatt thought to himself for a second, about what had just happened the night before, and realized, "That wasn't all just a nightmare." He checked his pockets for his keys and then unlocked the car, he carefully grabbed Tubbo and started walking inside, being sure to lock the door to the house, and the car. Upon walking inside Tubbo started to wake up, "Morning buddy." Schlatt never looked down at Tubbo whom was in his arms, even though he greeted him. Schlatt's face was stern as he kept remembering more and more about the night before. Schlatt put Tubbo on the floor by some of his toys, and then retreated to the kitchen to grab a beer.

Schlatt opened his beer and got Tubbo a bowl of cereal to munch on and then walked back over to Tubbo and gave him his food. Schlatt sat on the couch by Tubbo. Schlatt was watching Tubbo but also felt as though he was detached from reality, he kept throwing back sips of his drink while his brain just kept processing and thinking about things, but only one thing kept coming back again and again. She called Tubbo a mistake, to which Schlatt couldn't deny, he wasn't planned, and he was only just the result of a drunken fuck. But Tubbo felt like so much more, he meant so much to Schlatt, so much more than Schlatt ever thought a kid would mean to him. Tubbo was the sweetest and most well behaved kid, barely cried, barely ever bugged Schlatt, there was no flaw to him, but there was so many flaws in Tubbo's parents.

As Schlatt continued in his dazing thoughts Tubbo broke his dissociation, "Dad! Dad!" Schlatt shook his head to awaken himself and zoned back in, to which he realized that Tubbo spoke to signal someone was at the door. Schlatt groaned and stood up, walking to the door and leaving his beer behind, Tubbo just kept playing with his toys on the rug they had.

Schlatt opened the door, "Hello?" "We received a call from a concerned young woman, she said you had a child and that she felt you and your house wasn't safe for the child." Schlatt felt his chest tighten, "She wasn't bluffing." he mumbled. "Sir, may we come inside?" They asked a question but it felt like a statement, "Yes." Schlatt panicked, he sped walked inside to Tubbo and picked him up. Schlatt realized that not only was there house covered in beer bottles, but it had only enough food for them to barely survive, everything was a mess, and there wasn't any baby stuff such as high chairs or cribs, and the open half-full beer bottle Schlatt was working on chugging down minutes ago was sitting on the floor where Tubbo could've gotten to it. The inspectors searched around silently, as Schlatt held Tubbo tightly, for even Schlatt knew that Tubbo was the only thing keeping him from losing himself in drinking, and keeping him from death. Tubbo didn't understand what was happening, but he returned the slight hug Schlatt was giving him. At one point one of the inspectors approached Schlatt, filling Schlatt with a flood of anxiety. "May I look at the kid, sir?" Schlatt nodded, and handed him Tubbo. "His name is Tubbo." "He doesn't look to have bruises, burns, or any from of bodily injuries." One of the inspectors mumbled to the other. They handed Tubbo back to Schlatt and a wave of relief washed over him. "He isn't in immediate danger, but if you can't find a paying job, can't clean up your house, and can't provide a proper amount of food, he will be taken from you, you have a month." The inspectors left and Schlatt relaxed, he put Tubbo down and started cleaning up some of the beer bottles sitting around. "We'll do this Tub!" Tubbo didn't understand what was happening still, but he appreciated the enthusiasm Schlatt was putting into the air.
