I tend to not remember what I hide from many
But when I'm alone
Sometimes it just washes over me
Remembering memories that bother me
They taunt me
That I'm to blame
I'm the one that caused other people to suffer
The past is the past
But that doesn't mean the past can be forgotten
The past wasn't always a fairy tale
I may try to forget it
And it may work when I'm distracted
It may work when I'm with others
But when I'm alone,
The memories wash over me
The fear I felt
The anger I felt
And I can do nothing to stop the memories
No matter how hard I try
