I don't fit in this world.
It's not because of the accident of my birth,
Or any feelings of supperiority.
It's simply because I choose
To reject the status quo.Because the world, as it is now,
Has so few places for me to shine.
Because I'm a woman in a society
Polluted with bias and prejudice.
Because my soul speaks to something
Older, and decidedly longer lived.Don't mistake these words for loneliness.
I would rather be a square peg
Than fit perfectly into a round hole.
And if you'd rather persecute the other?
Well, I'll show you where my shoe fits.
