A night like this

"What's up with you and the colour green?"
Rob says in an amused tone.

I look up from the cute little plants I've been fixated on and shrug.

"It's pretty."
"And that whole green food thing?"
"Makes it easier to eat. Because green is supposed to be healthy and all..."

I pick up one of the plants and put it in the shopping card.
We continue looking around in the little plant store and from time to time pick out plants or pots.

"Do you want anything else?"
Robert asks while we walk out of the store.

"Maybe candles... or fairy lights. Some small decoration stuff."

He hums in approval.
We get in the car and he drives a little out of town to the next store I guess.

"I think you'll like this place!"
He smiles at me.
I smile back.

The store is old and has two floors connected with an even older looking staircase.
A big chandelier lights up the room.
A lot of small stuff and books lay around in shelves.
The sunlight falls through big windows.

"Go look around for something you like."
I nod.

After around 30 minutes I've looked at everything and chose what to buy.
Chrystals, nice candle holders, a cool lamp, band posters, tiny wooden animals and two vases. I even found an ancient looking tarot deck.
Robert picked some things out too.

Robert and I stay quiet over the car ride back until I decide to say something.

"Thank yo-you."
"For what?"
"For going shopping with me."
"Oh no problem. I didn't mind it."

The rest of the afternoon gets spend with decorating the house with everything we bought.
It takes its time but it's definitely worth it.

"It was a good idea to go shopping!"
Robert states ruffling through my hair.
I just nod feeling how exhausted I am from today... and it's only 5pm.

"Are you hungry?"

I shrug and go to my room without saying anything in response.

"What's that supposed to mean?"
I hear him call after me.

Slight annoyance grows in me.
I'm tired.
I don't want to eat right now so why can't he leave me alone?
I lay down in my bed and stare at the ceiling.
Robert knocks on my door.

"What is it?"

He opens the door and peaks in.

"Is something wrong?"

"I'm just tired. Could you leave now?"
My voice sounds more annoyed then anticipated.

"Sure."
I can hear worry in his voice.

"Robert, I'm fine. Don't freak out."

He nods and closes the door.
My eyes feel heavy and I fall asleep.

When I wake up again my throat feels really dry and sore.
And my stomach is in severe pain.
That kind of pain you get when you're really really hungry.

I get up and walk into the kitchen.
It's dark outside.
When I turn on the light a clock reveals the time to me.

3:34am.

I chug down a glass of water.
Then open the fridge.
There's dinner left over.
Lasagna.
I take it out and put some on a plate.
When I'm done eating I clean up and go to my room.
I search for my pack of cigs and a lighter.
