  Marinette's POV:

"Pl-please stop this at once, your highness."

Marinette pushes him away. She can not bear it. The thought that he kisses her out of sheer pity is too much for her to take it.

"I did not come b-back for you to t-toy with my f-feelings."

"I came to beg to be allowed to be apart of your kingdom as I once was in the past."

Marinette stands up now. She curtsies twice.

She gets no answer and sighs. She nods her head.

   King Adrien's  POV:

"I can not grant your request, Marinette."

Adrien stares at her as if he just discovered something new. He feels as if he can not stand it.  How could she come to confess to him and ask to return to her servanthood here?

"You see, you are not meant to be a servant. No, you are of noble blood."

He sees her put a hand to her face in shame.

"Mari, it is alright. I am not angry. If anything, I am sorry."

"Sorry, you need not be sorry for anything, oh, king."

"Oh, but that is where I believe you are wrong."

     Marinette's POV:

"I am sure I do not know what you mean."

She feels as if it is hard to avoid his glance. She hopes it was the right decision to come back.  How can she be sure?

"I promise I will not make trouble for the Agreste kingdom."

"What is it you want from me?"

     King Adrien's POV:

   "The truth."

"The truth?  I have told it to you already."

"In words, yes, but you refuse to let me prove I am worthy of you."

"Worthy of me?" She squeaks a bit as she speaks.

"Do you love me after all I have done to you?  I broke your heart. "

Adrien gets no answers from her. He becomes furious.

"Tell me, woman, do I owe you anything?"

    Marinette's  POV:

"Why did you send me away?"

"I was good to you. I gave my word never to bring trouble to you or your kingdom."

"I meant it all. I still do. Yet, you refused to let me be a part of your life."

"Was I that burdensome to you that you had to depose of me?"

Marinette sees the pain in his eyes. She feels him tremble.

    King Adrien's  POV:
"A burden, is that how you see yourself?"

At her nod, He mutters, "M-Marinette, l-love, you were never a burden. I was just frightened. I was too immature to see the mistake I was making.  Mari, I swear never to send you away again. I  never dreamed you would return. I always thought you would hate me."

"Hate you?  Never. I love you!"

Adrien smiles.  "Say it again, will you?"

     "Say what again?"

   Adrien frowns.

"I love you!" She shouts. She clasps a hand over her mouth.

"Do not ever leave me again. I l-love you too!  I never stopped. Not even for one minute, and I..."

The king is cut off when Marinette presses her lips against his. She knows it is probably a mistake letting him smooth talk her after all this time, but she can tell he means it.

Adrien closes his eyes. He is afraid if he opens them, it will be a mirage.  It always was before when he pictured her before him.

 Marinette's  POV:

"I assure you, I am real."

She holds his hands in hers.

"I will stay. As long as you will have me, I will stay."

"I refuse to form an allegiance with anyone else."

Marinette places her head on his shoulder. "Adri, I am here, please, hear me."

   King Adrien's  POV:
Adrien opens his eyes to see Marinette's head on his shoulder. He wraps an arm around her. It is almost like he seeks to protect her.

"I want you to stay for good."

       Marinette looks at him questioningly.

"I want you to stay forever," His voice has a husky tone to it.

He sees her face turn bright red.

What has he done wrong now?

   Natalie's POV:

Natalie smirks. She overhears her stepson tell Marinette he wants her to stay forever.

"Awe, how romantic!"

She hurries to go share the good news with Alix.
