Hello Autumn!

The next day..
Heiko woke up and looked next to him. Richi was still sleeping. He carefully got out of bed and put on a sweater and jogging pants. He quietly opened the door and headed out the room. He walked to the hallway where they left their bags yesterday. He took out his diary and opened it to a page he had bookmarked with some tape. It was his Fall list.

FALL LIST.

- decorate the house with orange, yellow  and red.
- create your own cinnamon and apple scent.
- carve a pumpkin
- watch a scary movie
- bake fall themed cookies
- bake halloween cookies
-jump in the biggest pile of leaves that you can find
- go walk in the forest
-find a mushroom and draw it
-go for a run in the rain.

Halloween

It was the first day of fall and that meant it was time to do one of the fall activities. It was a rainy day and Heiko was excited to bake something.

He put on his shoes and grabbed his jacket. Then headed outside to the store to buy the ingredients.

When he came back Richi was already awake and sitting at the dinner table while flipping trough Heiko his Diary.
"This is a super long list! I am not going to do all these..."
Heiko laughed. "Yes you are."
"No."
"Yes! You love me. That's why you will."
Richi shook his head. "What's that?"
"We are going to bake some things today!"

Richi mumbled some words and then put a very overdone smile on his face. Heiko hugged Richi from behind and looked at him with big eyes. "Stop doing that.." heiko laughed. He walked back to where he had left the groceries and started unpacking them.

Richi now got up and helped him unpack. "What are we going to make? Chef Hiersche.."
"Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin spiced coffee"
"Are you trying to kill me with pumpkins?"
Heiko laughed. "Don't worry! You will love it!
"I don't like pumpkin.."
"Then you never tasted my pumpkin!" Said Heiko as he climbed up a chair to grab a large bowl that was sitting on top of a shelf.
Richi laughed. He walked over to Heiko. "Be careful.." he said as he took the bowl from Heiko.
Heiko got down from the chair and put it back.
"So what is first?" Asked Richi.
"Pumpkin pie!"

Heiko grabbed the ingredients for the pie. He put the other groceries to the side.
"What's the first step..?" Asked richi.
"We first have to make the cake crust." Heiko read the steps to Richi and they followed them. When they added all the ingredients to the bowl, they had to whisk it together. Heiko got the mixer, he put it in the bowl, "low speed right?" Richi looked over at him. He walked closer and put the mixer on high speed. All the dry ingredients went into the air like a smoke cloud. Heiko started coughing. Richi laughed. "You are awful".. he said as he started to laugh. They made the pie like the description said and put it in the oven.

When they were done with the pie, they made the pumpkin bread. As they had put this in the oven as well, they heard the door open. They both looked up. It was kiara and maxy. "Hellooo!" She said. Heiko and Richi greeted them. "It smells so good in here!" kiara said as she and Maxy walked into the kitchen. "I didn't know you liked baking, dad!" She said. Richi raised his shoulders. Heiko smiled. "Maxy! You are right in time!" Maxy excitedly walked to Heiko and gave him a hug. "Do you want to help me make some cookies?" He asked. Maxy smiled and agreed to help. "Thank you Maxy!" Said Richi as he quickly left the kitchen. "She will do it for me." He said. Heiko raised his eyebrows. " fine! She is better at it anyways." Kiara walked after Richi into the living room.

Heiko got a small step so Maxy could reach the counter easier. They made the dough together. After this Heiko rolled out the dough and handed the cookie cutter to Maxy. "I have ghosts and pumpkins.." maxy excitingly started cutting out cookies from the dough. Heiko then put them on a baking tray. When they were done, Kiara came back into the kitchen. "maxy! We got to go." Maxy jumped off the step and walked toward her. "I will safe some cookies for you maxy!" She smiled happily and waved goodbye.

Now Heiko cleaned up the kitchen. When he was done he could take the pie, and bread out of the oven. He set it on the counter to let it cool down.  He walked to the living room where richi was sitting. He grabbed a blanket and sat down on the couch next to richi. He put the blanket over his legs. Richi put an arm around him and gave him a kiss on his head. "What are we watching?" Asked Heiko. "What do you want to watch?" They picked a movie to watch. After a few minutes richi put the movie on pause and got up. He walked to the kitchen and returned after a few minutes with the pumpkin pie and coffee. "I hope the coffee is good, I tried my best." Heiko smiled. "See! You do like it." Richi sat back down after he put the tray with pie and coffee on the table. He handed Heiko a plate with a piece of pie on it. "Let's see if it tastes good." Heiko smiled. "I hate to admit, but this is pretty good.." said richi.

They continued their movie and enjoyed the rest of the day together snuggling up on the couch.
