A tall handsome boy smiled wearily from a bench at the chaos that was a distant muggle street. He'd only left his father for a bit because he had been dying to see the muggle world some of his housemates lived in. He may have made a mistake coming without a guide though. He was lost. Hopelessly and bitterly lost.
He felt dizzy at the amount of people going to and fro. Not even Diagon Alley was this crowded and crazy; and it had magic so that was saying something! Here people were closely packed on little rectangular pieces of grey colored ground, and they didn't seem to dare walk in the big empty space where the black ground was, they seemed nervous but indifferent toward the big metallic things moving by themselves on the black ground.
Cedric felt a bit scared of those moving things as well. Where were the horse carriages like the Muggle Studies Professor said they used?!
Trapped in the moving crowd, Cedric was brought far away from the Leaky Cauldron and the Wizarding World. He sighed maybe he should've copied those older men earlier who pushed their way through. But he couldn't bring himself to do that it seemed rude.
Luckily as he was trying to make his way out he was pushed to a less populated area and he was finally able to walk by himself. The first thing he did was find an isolated place so he could figure out how to get back home. And a place he had found in the form of a 'Park' according to the sign he'd read. He'd heard from younger years that as children they often played at parks and on playgrounds, but there were no kids here, it was deserted.
So now he had been sitting here, alone, for a good thirty minutes with zero clue of how to return other then the night bus but he wasn't allowed to take that. He didn't want to disobey two of his father's rules in one day. Or make that three he had been planning on agreeing to date Cho Chang today but maybe he should reconsider...
He frowned when he heard the sound of someone snickering. However looking around there was no sign of people or life other then a bird which was standing oddly close...
He stared at it. "Hehehehe." His eyes grew wide as the bird released a snickering sound that should not have been possible. He dove away scrambling for his wand. It must be a dark creature only they were known to have the ability to disguise themselves. As he was preparing to defend himself though he heard a shout.
"Zera! Don't run off like that! Me and the others can barely catch up!"
"Hehehehhehe."
The bird snickered again. Cedric didn't think his eyes could grow any wider as he suddenly found himself in front of Four Muggles. He was screwed.
"Eh? Whose this weirdo? Someone you invite, Big D?" A skinny fair skinned boy look at him with suspicion and confusion before turning to the biggest boy of the group. 'Probably the boss,' he thought absently.
The bigger boy of the butch stared at him in confusion before he glanced at the bird and back at him.
"Oh. You must be one of those wizards if Zera took the time to mess around and prank you."
Cedric's jaw dropped as the other three boys nodded in understanding or spoke out.
"Ah that does explain the get up."
"Aren't they on Summer break right now?"
"Why's he here?"
"You-you know about magic?" He couldn't hold in the stutter, far to in shock to comprehend how these boys knew about magic.
The skinny boy looked at him like he was stupid. "Seriously we'd be idiots if we didn't know. You guys are kinda obvious with your clothes and running through walls and all. It's fun to watch you guys make a fool of yourselves though."
The bigger boy frowned at the skinny boy. "Hey be nice Sam, my cousins one of those weirdos."
The boys laughed.
Cedric blushed he'd have to inform his dad of this. The bigger boy then held out his hand in front of him. "Names Dudley Dursley. What's yours?"
Cedric took his hand nodding, "Cedric Diggory, it's a pleasure to meet you. Would you mind telling me who your cousin is? Maybe I know them!"
The bird snickered again, this time the boys joining in. Dudley smiled slyly, "You definitely know him. My cousin's Harry Potter."
Cedric froze at the name. "Seriously?"
The boy nodded.
"Hehhehehhe." The bird's snickering filled in the silence of his shock followed by an annoyed but amused scolding from Dudley.
"Come on Zera drop the bird act already! It's so odd and unnatural watching that small beak of yours open expecting a soft chirp only to hear a creepy snicker!"
The boys laughed. And Cedric watched in awe as the bird did an odd backflip, which birds definitely shouldn't be able to do, and glowed a blackish red. And suddenly on the bench where it had been standing was a black and red fox like creature.
'Happy now?'
He jumped at the sound of the voice in his head. The fox noticing it and smirking, 'Eh who would've thought Cedric Diggory was a scaredy-cat.'
That day Cedric had found a silly fox along with a few Muggle friends who took him out 'Pokémon Hunting' which according to them Zera was a real life Pokémon which had ended up in their world by mistake. Likewise most of the public knew about Pokémon but they purposefully kept the news online where magicals couldn't reach it not even the muggleborns knew. Because they didn't trust the magicals not to harm the lost little beasts.
So not only did Cedric end up breaking the rule of going to the Muggle world, he also broke the rule towards lying to his family. He didn't want to lose his new friends he also knew the ministry would take action if they knew. But to remedy this action of breaking a second rule he was not going to date Cho Chang like his father had asked. Who knows maybe he could get close to Harry instead?
And maybe Harry knew what this secret the boys refused to elaborate on was. The boys seemed quite fond of Harry so they must be close.
