Hey, if you don't know, I dislike the Korkie Kenobi theory, like I really really don't like it. I, of course, will tell why and I hate it for being probably right but there's one thing, one scene (or scenes) that proves that maybe he isn't a Kenobi, and with the theory being heavily based on his looks, I'm curious why I feel like no one has pointed this out.
Okay so first thing first, if you don't know the Korkie Kenobi theory, either you're not really caught up since the theory kinda went popular last year or you don't watch cartoon cause "it's a kid's show" which I say shame on you. Basically Korkie is the nephew of Duchess Satine Kryze (and basically also Bo-Katan Kryze) as is introduced in season 3's The Academy. Now we all know that Satine has one of the best and saddest love story with Obi-Wan Kenobi and fans starts to figure out that "hey maybe that Satine's "nephew" kid that appeared in season 3 is their son, I mean just look at them" and so the theory spread like wildfire.
Now I am certain to be on the minority of my fellow shippers because I DO NOT LIKE this theory. My main reason is because I think it ruins Obi-Wan's character and also one of the main points of their relationship.
Obi-Wan is a good man who is mature and selfless. He also likes to follow the Jedi Code, perhaps more than his master, or his padawan, or his grandpadawan (wow rip this guy). Anyways, I don't think Obi-Wan is the type of person to carelessly sleeps with someone knowing the consequences of it. That's the difference about him and Anakin, he knows limits.
Which brings me to my second point, the goal of the relationship. I think other than to give more depth to Obi-Wan's character, the relationship between him and Satine are made as a direct parallel to Anakin and Padmé. I mean they could easily just introduce Satine without any ties with Obi-Wan or they're just friends but they don't.
As we know, they eventually decided to do the right thing and chose their careers and duties over love while Anakin and Padmé are more selfish, which ends up dooming the entire galaxy (good job guys). If Obi-Wan have a kid, then that erases the difference between him and Anakin, that one of them are more mature than the other, that one of them knows where to draw the line.
Well now that my feelings about it have been told, I'll tell you about the thing I mentioned earlier about an overlooked detail.
A while ago when I first heard the theory and doing so digging into it, I stumbled across an article. On the article, it was said that when creating Korkie, Dave Filoni did intend for Korkie to be the son of Satine and Obi-Wan but then George Lucas dislike the idea of their relationship being escalated into an intimate level so they changed it (thank the maker).
Now I forgot the name of this article, I couldn't find it and I have no idea if it's even credible or not which really isn't working too well for me but I have proof. I have proof that might suggest that the story of George Lucas not wanting Korkie to be their son is real. And this is the one detail that people seem to miss and that is: his appearance in season 5.
Korkie appeared only in 2 episodes, The Academy and The Lawless, but people seem to forgot that he appeared in the latter. Most people take photos of Korkie from his season 3 appearance but not his season 5. So what? you might ask. Well, people might've not use his photos from season 5 because they forgot he even appeared or.... it doesn't help them in their argument.
As you can see, him and his classmates look different than how they look in season 3 (which can I just say how much of an upgrade the girls get and the downgrade the boys got). If you focus on Korkie, you might realize the things that change. His hair is no longer a mixture of blonde and whatever Obi-Wan's hair color is, it's styled different, and his nose change from looking exactly like Satine's into more different that still doesn't resembles Obi-Wan's nose (and if you're arguing that maybe the animation just got better, Satine still has the same nose shape from the previous seasons in season 5).
I think this might prove that George Lucas indeed did not approve of Korkie Kenobi, hence why Dave and the team change some things about him other than just to show he's older.
This is my take on this theory, let me know if you feel otherwise. Also sorry if I don't make myself clear, I'm bad with my words lol.
On another note,GreyJedi_Knight11, this is the cover you asked me to do
The book sounds interesting, I'm gonna read it once it comes out
