Ooooooh this is a really hot take so take your cup of tea because I will explain why replacing Kathleen Kennedy with Dave Filoni or Jon Favreau is stupid as hell.
First of all, CIVIL WAR IN LUCASFILM RUMOR IS DUMB AS F*CK. Who believes in this sh*t? Oh right, impressionable young kids or toxic prequel fans/OT elitists who watches the liars that are Mike Zeroh, Geeks and Gamers or Doomcock (why would anyone take a man named Doomcock seriously?????? That username is in the same level as cringy kids putting 69 in their username)
Kathleen Kennedy is a producer and a business woman. She deals with all the business and financial things that's related to Lucasfilm. Although she does have some word in the story, she's not the one writing it, she just greenlights things. Now guess who writes stories as a job? That's right, Dave and Jon.
Why the hell would Dave and Jon try to take over Lucasfilm? Try to "dethrone" Kathleen in a "4D chess game". Their jobs is to create these stories, that's what they're really good at, that's their talent. They don't have the experience Kathleen has and isn't capable of running an entire company. Some could debate that Jon might be more capable of doing Kathleen's job than Dave but Jon isn't devoting his life into Star Wars. He makes other projects too, like in the MCU or Disney or some other movies and he won't be able to do those things that he loves if he becomes the head of Lucasfilm because then he'll have to spend his entire time into running the company.
Now with Dave who, unlike Jon, pretty much devotes his life into Star Wars. He's a passionate storyteller and he's a great show runner/director but he isn't a businessman. Even if with some miracle he becomes the president of Lucasfilm, he won't be able to write or create stories again (you know, the things he's really good at) because, again, his time will be all taken in the business side of Star Wars. Plus he likes Kathleen, he even said that she helped him learn and transition into directing live action.
Another thing I want to mention is that people seem to hate Kathleen for everything??? Like yeah the sequels were pretty sh*tty but like she isn't the only one at fault here. Plus she was the one who greenlights all the incredible new Star Wars content that's been coming out recently. People also take things she do out of context. You know that "the force is female" shirt? That was actually a Nike campaign (that happens to be about feminism and supporting women) and wasn't created by her, she just wears it because she was a speaker in the event.
Now do I think Kathleen is perfect? Of course not. She has her mistakes with the sequel trilogy which proves that she should definitely less to not at all tamper with things from now on and she may be pushing a little too much SJW into Star Wars but diversity isn't a bad thing. Forced diversity is pretty bad but nowadays whenever a character who isn't a white straight male is as simple as being introduced, you know damn well that the toxics will raise their pitch forks right away and it's annoying as hell. Plus if you think she's pushing political agenda into Star Wars, remember that George Lucas also puts political agendas in the original 6, mostly about American politics, and I don't see anyone crying over it.
If people really want to replace Kennedy, then just try to find another guy but Dave and Jon should not be her replacement.
