Sonnet I 'Green Grass of Home'

Amidst this obscure world of cruelty
In the green grass of home I find my peace
How soothing; it tells me not to worry
Such a visage that fills my heart with bliss.

It brings comfort to every troubled soul
A feeling which I wish would never cleave
Hearing the birds sing their happy carols;
Could this be the best life can ever give?

I pluck my strings, embrace the joy it brings
I feel my rhymes as I write through the times
Such a journey so long and so tiring
Such actors we've been on life's pantomime.

Now tell me, are you going to give up?
Or ride the waves of life with your head up.
