A Walk In The Rain

I watched the rain ripple across the puddle in front of me. I could hear it pattering against my umbrella as I stood in front of the largest house on the street. Its wrought iron gates were padlocked shut, nobody had been here for a long time. Ivy ran rampant all over the bricks and wilting flowers lay in the garden of the abandoned house. But when I strained my ears, I heard a faint piano melody seeping from the house, the gentle rain and piano creating a beautiful melody. I edged closer and sure enough, I saw the shadow of someone doing ballet as the keys of the piano played. I smiled despite myself. I knew those two would never give up their passions. A small weight was lifted off my shoulders as I walked home, replaced with a feeling of contentment. I could relax now that I knew they were resting in peace.
