Self-Defense

Amber storms into the precinct.

"Is this about Kyle?" Con asks. "All his applications were sent in."

"This is not about Kyle," Amber says. "Did you know?"

"You have to be a little more specific," Con says.

"Did you cover up my sister's murder?" Amber asks. Clari enters at that moment. Con is shocked.

"Why do you think I covered up a murder?" Con asks. "No one knows where your sister is. Is it confirmed that she's dead?"

"Lila has footage," Amber explains. "Did Eddie kill her?"

"If he did, it was self-defense," Con says. "Go back to D.C. Help your fiancé lock up Lila and your father. But if you have to kill them, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world."

"Did you really cover up a murder?" Clari asks.

"It was self-defense," Con says. Clari nods.

"I have it out for the Joneses too," Clari says. "I don't care what happened."

"What happened to Sabrina Jones?" a student asks.

"That's a good question," Marty says. "I don't know. Nobody knows."

"Is she still out there?" another student asks. "How worried should we be?"

"Secretary Li and Ms. Jones have it under control," Marty tells his class. "Officers McAllister and Alvarez are protecting this town."

"But the shield has still not been updated," someone in the middle says.

"I thought this was a history class," a student points out. "It seems like a Current Events class."

"A lot is going on," Marty says. "Hopefully, it'll all be over soon and we can get back to normal."
