"OH my my! Athena you look like a Goddess. I'm sure men will be on their knees for you tonight."

Clara said when Athena walked out of the changing room. She indeed looked like a Goddess in the blood red long sleeves sequined gown. The dress fitted her perfectly showing her beautiful curves. It seemed that it was only made for her.

She smiled at Clara, the designer. She was nervous but was prepared for what was coming tonight which would seal her fate forever.

All the preparations were done.

She didn't even look at her reflection in the mirror. The maid handed her the Gucci purse. She thanked her and dragged herself out of the vanity room.

Her long gown trailed behind her. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked with the grace. Her blood red lips complimented her dress and her soft hair were styled in the elegant loose bun. Few loose strands framed her face falling on her dainty necklace.

"Good evening, dad." Athena greeted her father. Sebastian nodded at her. His eyes examined her.

He was impressed by the way she looked like a woman instead of a some teenage girl. She looked like a woman who would carry a big empire on her dainty but strong shoulders.

"Sweetheart you look marvellous tonight. Come, let's go. You have to rule the night." Her mother smiled.

The fake smiles and compliments, people were giving to each other, were making her nauseous. Indeed she was used to it but tonight her heart was feeling uneasy.

Despite that, the smile displayed on her lips, never wavered. The cameras were flashing everywhere. Everyone was trying to catch the glimpse of the young heir latched onto Sebastian Garrett's arm.

"My Gosh Athena sweetheart! You have so grown up, my dear." She smiled at the old fellow of her father's.

"Good evening, Mr. Garrett." A deep voice spoke from behind them. She turned to look at the source. Her blood turned cold at the sight of Xavier.

"Xavier, how are you?" Sebastian asked shaking his hand with his. Xavier smiled and nodded.

"May I steal the gem from you? Just for one dance?" His sick smile was back. Athena looked at his father. Her eyes were pleading him to not let him take her.

"Xavier, my boy I have something to discuss with you first. Can I have a moment please?" Sebastian's stoic face left Xavier with no choice. The confusion kicked in his system. He nodded his head and followed her father, casting one lustful glance at her.

Athena sighed in relief. Her mother was with her friends flaunting her wealth as always. She sipped her juice and decided to wander towards the balcony.

She breathed in the fresh air as she stepped out. The stars shone brightly on a dark sky. She sighed. Her train of thoughts broke when she heard a soft sniffle. Her head turned towards the source.
