1.4; supermarket adventures #2.
♡ leila anderson. ♡
Three minutes since Matthew has randomly disappeared, but it seemed like forever. I've been searching around this entire supermarket for the past three minutes, glancing at every aisle for him as I did so - but, unfortunately, he was still nowhere to be found.
Telling one of the store workers to call him from the speaker was tempting for me to do, but I didn't want to make this a big deal - I didn't actually enjoy so much attention, and doing so would cause that. So, I just continue to tire myself out and keep on trudging around the supermarket.
"Lord forgive me when I kill Matthew." I muttered when I glanced down one more aisle and there was no sign of him. I was no longer in a panic-mode. I was more irritated and annoyed now, instead of terrified, like I was a couple of minutes ago.
I let an inhuman groan leave my lips and I turned to enter another aisle, but that's when another person, who was much more buffer than me, abruptly walked out of it, the both of us now colliding. The person stayed standing while I stumbled back, dropping the bag of baking soda and the bottle of vinegar to the ground - but thank god they didn't spill out.
"Ow." I remarked and groaned again, feeling the pain of my rear flow through my body. I felt the person's hands help me up quickly, and I watched as he gathered the bag and bottle off the ground.
He turned around once the supplies were in his arms and I couldn't help but be awestruck once my eyes met his. He was actually really cute. And the best part was, he looked like he could be eighteen or nineteen - which would be fine for me, since I'm seventeen and I'm allowed to date a guy who's one or two years older than me.
"I am so, so sorry for bumping into you." he finally spoke after two seconds of the both of us just staring at each other. It seems creepy to hear, but it actually wasn't creepy to do so. It was kind of like how you would stare at someone when it's 'love at first sight'.
"No, it's not your fault," I responded in assurance, flashing a kind smile. "I should have watched where I was going." The boy chuckled and shook his head, grinning and flashing his perfect white teeth, making me in awe even more.
This dude was literally perfect; his hair colour was brown (he was a brunette) and his eyes were green, and that's a really attractive combination, seeing it in real life.
"What's your name?" he asked me with his perfect grin never leaving his face. I nearly fell down again because my knees were weak, staring at his smile for a long periodically time. You would have weak knees, too, if you saw it.
"I'm Leila."
"That's such a beautiful name," he commented and I blushed, trying not to smile wide like an idiot. That compliment may be cliché and overused - but this boy can be an exception. "I'm Seth."
"It's nice to meet you, Set-" I was interrupted by the familiar, demonic voice of Matthew from afar, behind me, hollering my name. I spun around and Seth looked behind me, too, the both of us now spotting an irked Matthew stomping over towards me.
"Where the hell have you been, Leila? I've been trying to call you for five minutes now!" Matthew babbled with a raised voice once he reached me, and I rolled my eyes, facing back to Seth to give him a 'sorry' face. All he did was shrug nonchalantly but then looked at Matthew with this unrecognizable look.
"Would you please lower your voice and stop yelling at me." I snapped and nodded towards Seth, feeling pretty embarrassed right now. I swear, Matthew is going to get murdered once we leave this place.
"Who are you nod-" Matthew began to ask but then turned his head to where I nodded. He now noticed that Seth was standing there, and his face scrunched up in disgust once he set eyes on him. I could see him grimacing. "What are you doing here, Seth?" Matthew questioned and my eyebrows creased in utter confusion.
How the hell does Matthew know Seth when I only met him today? I'm sure Seth doesn't go to our school - I would have recognized him if he did. Maybe he's one of the seniors?
"Uh, this is where I go grocery shopping?" Seth answered nonchalantly and relaxed, unlike Matthew who looked at Seth like he wanted to kill the dude.
Matthew scoffed. "Well...you can go now. We have to go now." Matthew gestured to the both of us, wrapping an arm around my waist. I instantly slapped it off and glared at him, but he ignored me and wrapped his arm around my waist again, tighter now.
"Of course," Seth said and nodded, turning his head to look at me now, ignoring Matthew's glare he still had on him. "It was nice to meet you, Leila. I hope to see you around again."
"You too, Seth." I pried myself off of Matthew's arm that was tightly around my waist and took the bag of baking soda and the bottle of vinegar out of his arms. He smiled at me one last time, and I did the same. He then nodded awkwardly at Matthew and picked up the basket, in which I'm guessing he set down when he picked up my things, and left.
"Matthew, how do you know who Seth is and why are you being so rude to him?" I questioned Matthew and spun around to face him again. He looked mad still, but Seth wasn't even here. Matthew just rolled his eyes and lifted up the empty basket, where I put the supplies inside.
"He's just this dude I know," Matthew responded, not answering my question one tiny bit - he only made me want to know even more. "Never mind him, let's just go now." Without waiting for my reply, he walked past me, bumping his shoulder with mine as he did.
I rolled my eyes at his attitude and fast-walked, so I could be beside Matthew as he continued to walk to the cashier area. "Can you please tell me how you know him, Matthew?"
"I said no, Leila." he sternly refused, irritated with me. That didn't stop me, though.
"Matthew, please just tell me-"
"I told you no!" Matthew raised his voice and abruptly stopped walking and turned to me, infuriated. His eyes darkened and I should be scared, which I was - but I was also quite amused and wanted to giggle, but that would anger him even more. "Now, why don't you stop your questions, shut your damn mouth, and cover your beautiful little face so no other guy would stop to flirt with you! Okay? Good."
With that being blurted out, Matthew turned his heel and proceeded to walk while I watched him do so, still frozen in shock. After five more seconds, I regained myself and followed Matthew, thinking about the words he just said.
He just called me beautiful.
Hah, now I can use that against him during our arguments.
