Fandom: Unus Annus
Characters: Unus and the gongoozler.

The Gongoozler sat on the top of a sea-cave under water, deciding wether or not lt was worth it to hunt. He lived in an ocean that washed over it's beach constantly. He decided to swim up, even if there wasn't any prey he really needed to get away from the fish the lived in the same murky depths that he did. For most merpeople, the swim to the surface would be around 30 minutes, but with his enhanced tail he would be able to make it in 15, 10 if he pushed it.

Unus walked along the beach, wearing his signature black suit. He wondered why it was so empty, it was very pretty and he found an calmness from the silence that he would before find unnerving. Suddenly, there was 2 or 3 light splashes on the surface of the water, before a form appeared on top. He took a closer look, but this was no regular night-swimmer as he originally thought. It's skin was a pale green, with matching green hair. It had razor sharp teeth that could probably cut diomands and a lantern like light sitting on  it's head, casting both light and looming shaddows over its face. None of that was the most daunting, though. It had pure white eyes, seeming to be keeping him frozen in place.

He blinked, and it disappeared. Unus played it off as his mind playing tricks on him.

The Gongoozler could see, despite what his eyes may lead you to think. He had very poor eyesight and his light didn't help much, only enhancing what he could see rather than making him see what he could not. He often resorted to echo-location. He had learnt it from a nice pod of dolphins he spoke to when he was on his way to this beach. He was able to sence and figure, seemingly male, standing on the beach. The Gongoozler stopped swimming for a moment, his scaled tail wagging like that of a dog. He would have fun with this one. He reappeared, this time closer. He stared into the scared eyes of Unus, beconing him to join him in the water.

Unus found himself slowly approaching the water. He knew it wasn't smart but he couldn't stop. He screamed at himself to turn around, but he couldn't.

The Gongoozler used echolocation to picture Unus better but he realized that they were roughly the same size, the Gongoozler only being a little bigger due to his tail. He wouldn't be able to eat him, but if he drowned him, turning him into a merman he become another hunter with enough training. The Gongoozler lunged forward, out of the water, with sharp claws extending from his fingernails. He didn't want the man to bleed out so he grabbed his clothing rather than his skin.

Clothing was an odd concept to the Gongoozler. It was restricting and there was no purpose in it. They could group together or find a warm cave or sun spot the stay warm. Also, if they weren't wearing clothes they would find it easier to get a mate.

Unus was once again starting at the odd sea creature. This time he was sure it was not his imagination. It was closer, and much more clear. Much more terrifying.

The next thing he knew, his suit was snagged and he was dragged underneath the water. Only to be seen when hunting, murdering, or kidnapping, which he called 'recruiting'.
