Shit. That was nicks voice. I opened the door and he looked up at me with a concerned face

Nick: you okay?

I nodded my head and stepped aside so he could come in. He walked inside and I closed the door behind me. Deep breaths Alisha, deep breaths. He is your boyfriend, nothings gonna happen okay? I walked towards my closet and looked for something to wear that would a) not make me get judged by mum b) be "acceptable". I really didn't wanna get into a fight with them, so might as well follow their standards

Nick: what are you doing?

"Looking for an outfit"

Nick: for?

I took a big breath in and a big one out

"I'm going to go see my parents"

Nick: oh, why do look so unhappy to meet them?

"I'm not unhappy, I'm stoked"

Nick: very good at hiding the happiness

"Thanks?"

Nick: what's going on Lea? You can talk to me

Fuck. I feel so guilty, why do I feel so guilty?

"Nothings happening though"

He got up off my bed and walked over to the closet before grabbing my hand and leading me to my bed. We both took a seat facing each other. It was time to tell Nick about my parents..

Nick: what's happened?
Alisha: I got to tell you something
Nick: you can talk!
Alisha: I got my voice back this morning, but I didn't want to tell you like this..

Nick POV

Nick: baby, what's wrong?
Alisha: *sigh* okay so, do you remember the day I called you for the first time?
Nick: yeah, asking me about the roommate situation
Alisha: okay well, about 40 minutes prior to that I-

I heard her voice breaking and could see tears forming. I took her hands into mine and gently rubbed the outside of her hand with my thumb

Nick: take your time
Alisha: I um got kicked out of my house

I was not expecting that, but it doesn't mean she's not the Alisha I love

Nick: oh
Alisha: well now my mums asking me to come home but I already told her I'm not going back home because I already have a place to live, but my dad got home and I'm gonna go to just meet them
Nick: Lea, they are your parents. They're going to love you no matter what and so am I
Alisha: *sniffles* god you're the best
Nick: I know

I wiped the tears that were still on her face while she calmed herself down

Alisha: I'm gonna go get ready
Nick: I'll be here
Alisha: okay

She smiled at me before grabbing her clothes and walking into the bathroom. I didn't expect her to tell me that she had been kicked out but I'm happy she could trust me with that information. I'm also happy that she got her voice back. I was just chilling on my phone until I heard the bathroom door open and saw lea come out

Nick: you look so pretty baby
Alisha: thank you bubs

End nick POV

I checked myself one more time in the mirror to make sure that everything was okay. Here we go. I grabbed everything that I would need and placed it into my purse. I still had twenty minutes before I had to go, so I jumped onto my bed and gave nick a huge hug. He was surprised at first but game me one back. When we pulled away I gave him a kiss and decided that I should go so that I could come back early. I got up to leave before nick pulled me back into bed

Alisha: nick!
Nick: five more minutes
Alisha: okay fine

He giggled before he pulled me all the way down. I was now laying down on the bed. Nick then crawled on top of me and just stayed at me. I was super confused so I just raised and eyebrow, he smiled before he leaned in and kissed me again. He then started kissing all over my face and neck. I started laughing because he got a few ticklish spots. I finally got up right and fixed my hair before trying to leave

Nick: do you have to gooo
Alisha: the longer you keep me here there later I come back home
Nick: no fair
Alisha: also you have a game in about five minutes
Nick: oh shit I do!
Alisha: bye baby
Nick: bye bye

I left the house and drove towards my parents house. When I got there I spent a good minute or two just calming down my nerves before walking out of my car and knocking on the door twice. I still had my keys but it felt weird to use them. My mum opened the door and I walked inside. My dad came down the stairs and engulfed me in a hug. He was always the touchy kind but I didn't mind. My dad and I had a stronger relationship then my mum and I but oh well. None of us had said a single word until all three of us were seated in the living room

Mum: Alisha
Alisha: mum
Mum: it's been a while
Alisha: yeah it has
Mum: well you could've called or visited
Dad: carol..
Mum: I'm sorry about the way I acted that day, I was drunk and shouldn't have kicked you out of the house
Alisha: it's fine I guess
Dad: why don't you come back home Lea?
Alisha: dad, mum kicked me out and I couldn't just live on the streets. When she kicked me out, I was on my phone and found three people who needed a roommate so I called them, we met up and now I'm living there
Mum: you can't just start living with complete strangers!
Dad: carol calm down!
Alisha: they aren't strangers..tommy knows them
Dad: are they girls or boys?
Alisha: all boys..
Mum: our daughter is living with three boys! I wonder what would happen there
Alisha: mum! Nothings happened! We all stream together and it's pretty chill
Mum: sorry, sorry, just the motherly instinct kicking in
Dad: so do you like any of them?
Alisha: dad!
Mum: do you though lea?
Alisha: maybe
Mum: do you have a picture?
Alisha: yeah
Dad: show us!

I turned my phone on and showed them my lock screen. They looked at my phone and looked back at each other before leaning back in their seats

Mum: so do you wanna tell us why he is your lock screen Lea?
Alisha: um.. we are dating?
Dad: is he better then that asshole, Noah?
Alisha: yes 100%
Mum: Alisha I know I've been a bad mother over these years but I'm going to try and be better okay? You don't have to live at home anymore, you're are big girl now. But I think the both of us would love it if you visited from time to time
Dad: maybe even let us meet your new boyfriend
Alisha: I'll try to visit but I'm not promising that you're gonna meet him. You guys are very judgemental
Mum: well that was rude wasn't it
Dad: yes we are never judgemental! I don't even know where you got that from

I started laughing along with my parents. This was the family I loved. Us laughing with each other and living in peace. Yes my mum has done fucked up shit in the past, but there are so many people who have it worse then me. I'm also believing that she is going to change for the better
