Hal🙄
Is it okay if we hang out later?

Lia
Yeah I should be finished writing
by noon. Lunch?

Hal🙄
You're writing another book?

Lia
Yep you know how I am
when I get into creative mode

Hal🙄
Yeah you start writing in your notebook while listening to Harry Styles on repeat for two hours and maybe Taylor Swift?

Lia
Taylor is a must while writing about assholes who mess with 19 year olds

Hal🙄
Lia I'm sorry..

Lia
I know, see you later

Ophelia was nervously waiting for Timothée to arrive at her apartment.
«Hey.»
Her thoughts were interrupted by his presence, and she was caught off guard by his lips on her cheek.
The urge to slap him ceased as soon as she saw the paparazzi across the road.
«Fuck you.»
«Well, I've missed you too Lia.»
She rolled her eyes.
«I haven't.»
«Sure. Give me your hand.»

They went to get lunch at her favourite restaurant and talked like the old times.
They talked about how he'd stay in NY for Christmas and then about the award season and her book.
He walked her back to the apartment, when he noticed the paparazzi again.
«Don't freak out.»
He said before kissing her on the lips.
He knew their kiss would be the headlines of the next day magazines and that his stans on twitter would lose their mind, but for the first time he didn't mind.
«Fuck you again, Chalamet.»
She said and rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but notice the butterflies.
«Wanna watch a movie at mine?»
Ophelia looked at him wide-eyed.
«It will look more convincing if they see us heading to my place.»

«Ugh...okay.Mia is studying and she wants me out of the house anyways.»
Mia, her roommate,  was a med student preparing for exams, which meant that she'd get pissed off by any kind of noise.
She took his hand and held it tighter as they reached his car.
The drive to his place was quiet, Ophelia was checking her phone.
Timothée couldn't help but wonder if she was seeing someone else and started to feel a bit jealous.

His place had changed a bit.
She hadn't noticed the changes the first time she had been there after those long six months, because she was too occupied trying not to cry.
He'd added a few paintings on the walls and a few souvenirs from places he had been to.
«How's your mom?»
«She's fine, she misses you.»
«Oh tell her I said hi.»
«Uh about that...»
Realization hit him like a truck, as soon as he remembered something important he had to tell her.
Ophelia looked at him in confusion, what was going on?
«She thinks we're dating again for real. And she kind of invited you to dinner.»
«Timothée Hal Chalamet are you serious right now? What's wrong with you?!When?»
«Uhm she invited you to stay over for Christmas too and the dinner is on thursday.»
«I can't Timmy, my mom-»
«Actually...they already spoke and your mom was more than happy to let you stay with us, if you don't mind of course, but my mom will be heartbroken..»
«I'll think about it.»
He nodded and turned the tv on.
Shit. She'd called him Timmy. She could feel the smirk on his face even though they weren't looking at each other.
«What do you want to watch?»
« I don't know...friends?»
«Friends it is.»
The easiness they had created between them during lunch had disappeared as soon as they were alone. She felt like punching him for forcing her into situations she didn't want to be in and kissing him at the same time.
«You know Ophelia...»
She turned around and he was already looking at her.
«I missed being with you like this.»
She rolled her eyes.
«It's not my fault you fucked that up. I missed it too by the way.»
She admitted, not daring to take her eyes off the tv.

«It was the nights we'd spend together what I missed the most about him. Our midnight adventures in the streets of this town he made me love and feel like a second home. But I also loved our quiet nights, spent by being lazy on the couch and watching a random movie we didn't pay any attention to. He made me enjoy the simple things more than I did before, and for that I'll always be grateful.»
He quoted an entire sentence from her book, and she had to admit that she was impressed.
«Is that the part you like the most?»
She asked out of curiosity.
«No.» He simply answered, turning his face to the tv.
«I'm curious now,  it seems strange that you memorized that if it's not your favorite part..»
«I've read it so many times that I probably remember every comma Lia, don't underestimate me.»
«Why?»
He looked down.
«I wanted to understand the damage I'd done to you and to myself too. In fact, I hate myself for causing you so much pain Lia. I wake up everyday knowing I have hurt the only person I'll ever love and I don't know how to fix it. I deserve you hating me, and the hatred you have towards me hurts me more than I let you know, but I'm aware I deserve it. I won't fight for something I don't deserve. But I will always love you, even if I failed in showing you.»

«I miss you too Timmy, but I can't look past my heartbreak. I was betrayed by the only person I decided to trust after a long time. I can't just forget it.»
He nodded, wiping a few tears from his eyes with the sleeve of his shirt.
«I'll always wait for you.»
